MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral Home in
Lucknow on Monday, January 9, 1984 at 2

2:00 pm at 'thelDavey Linklater Funeral
Home with Rev. Dr. Norman A. Perry of the
United Church of Canada officiating: Soloist

Thomas Arthur Stewart
Thomas Arthur Stewart of RR 4, Kincar-
dine, passed away at the Kincardine and
District General Hospital on Sunday,
January 1, 1984.
A farmer in Glenavon, Saskatchewan, for.
18 years, he - also farmed in Culross
Township for 34 years before retiring to the
South Line.
A• member of the United Church of
Canada, he was also a member of the
Kinloss Loyal Orange Lodge 898. The
members of the lodge conducted a
memorial service on January 2,1984. '
Born in Kincardine Township on March 8,
1900,, he was the son of the late John Stewart
and Matilda Louise Robinson. '
He married Fern Ila .Larrett of Black
River, Michigan, on December 25, 1919, in
Briarcrest, Saskatchewan. The couple
farmed a section of land near Glenavon,
Saskatchewan, for 18 years until they mov-
eii'toMillarton with their11 children in I938.
In 1939, they purchased a farm on the 14th
of Culross where they farmed for 34 years
until they retired in 1972 to part of lot 18 on
the South Line of Kiftcardine.
He was held in high esteem for his general
hospitality and there was always room for
one or more additional guests at his table.
Torn Stewart will he sorely missed by his
fancily and friends. ,'
He is survived by his wife who is now a
resident of Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home
in Lucknow.
He is also survived by six sons and five
datersi John of Crediton, Gerald of Kin -
care, Ernest (Bud) of RR 4 Kincardine,
Alex of Orangeville, Russell of Trenton,
Harold of Bernie,

of Kincardine,. Ellen (Mrs'. Ken Rowe) of

where he' majored in English and philos-
ophy. He also has a Masters degree in
philosophy. •
Mr. Eddy said he taught in London before
going to =Exeter where he spent 10 years.
At present, Mr. Eddy is • driving to
Wingham each day from his home in Grand
Bend. He has ne immediate plans to move
because his wife teaches at Exeter and he.
said he does not .want her to drive long
distances during the winter months. How-
ever, he said he may move in the future.

Januarymeeting in the church parlour on
January 10 with eight members in attend-
ance.
Acting leader Freda Button, opened the
meeting. Elaine Irwin read, One. Solitary
Life.
A sit, The Laundry Room Meeting, taken
from the Mission ' Magazine, was presented
by Edna McDonald, . Deanna Reavie and
Elaine Irwin. This was an introduction to the
Study Book, Jesus Means Life. The ladies
had an interesting discussion following the
skit.
The program was closed with prayer.
Freda presided for the election of officers
for the new year. The collection Was taken
and the roll call was membership fees.
