five daughters, Islay -Wilkie and Ellen

. Pherson of Tepswater, Mabel Cornish
of Winnipeg, and Mildred -Stanley, R.
R. 4,- Kincardine Toivriship, 38. grand;
children, 28 great grandchildren and
• one great great grandchild, also one
•brother Allister of Kincardine Town-
• ship and two sisters, Ida,Bonnett and.
Tilde mewhhiney. •
• Sympathy is extended to the family
at this tune of bereavement. He was
predeceased by seven brothers, one of
thein was Ab Stewart who farmed on
thksixth concession of Huron, and was
well known in. the Ripley area.
Seeking Sun
Norm and Mabel Barnard are the
most recent Ripley folks to give up on
these wintry conditions and seek the
• warm sunshine of the South. On
Sunday they went to London for an
overnight stay. Then on Monday
• morning they left by bus for Daytona
• Beach, Florida -• the same place , as
last year. They expect to return home
early in February.
• • In Hospital
Among those in the Kincardine and.
District Hospital this past week were
the following people from Ripley and
• area - • Mrs. Joy McLean, Dinnie
• MacDonald, Orland McLeod, and Jack
Carter, all of Ripley and Leonard Reid
of Reid's Corners. - Then last Friday
after two weeks in Kincardine, Orland
was transferred to • St. Joseph's
• Hospital in London. For the second
tithe in the past month or so, Joy
McLean was taken back to St. jos's,
London on Monday of this week'.

• sixth. The kind of a morning when one
could see a pillar of smoke rising
'straight up into the calm frosty sky

Celebrates 90th
Last Thursday evening Mrs. Annie
Pinkerton of Lambton " Street in
Kincardine •called tosay that she had
• just read .in this column where Fran
• Wilds hid received the telephone call
beforeNew Year's Day from her sister -
Helen inShrewsbury, England.
•- Since •the news item said that the
former Helen Peterson 'called to
express birthday greetings to Fran,
• Mrs. Pinkerton thought that she and
Fran had birthdays on the same date.
- However, it turned out that they were
.• on days following each other. •
Mrs. Annie Pinkerton 'celebrated
her 90th • birthday on Saturday,
• December 31; 1983. She told that she
• knew the Peterson family to which
Fran and -Helen belong. She said that
her father Bert Peterson drilled a well
on their home farm in Greenoch
Township years ago. Also
