lunch of sandwiches, Christmas
cake and cookies,
CWL Held Meeting
At Sacred Hqart
The monthly meeting of the
Catholic Women's League was held
in Sacred Heart !parish: hall with
14 members present. Mrs, Hanna,
president, was in •the chair and
opened the meeting -With prayer.
The roll was called.
Mrs. Templeman, secretary, read
the minutes of the last meeting.
Correspondence was read and
business discussed. Tickets on
turkeys and fruit cake were dis-
tributed to the members and their
families to defray the expenses of
the children's Christmas party to
be held on Sunday in the parish
hall, Mary Louise Flach will be
-in charge of children's program.
Card parties will continue in the
parish hall after Christmas. The
meeting adjourned with the League
prayer and lunch was served by
the committee in 'charge. _

a train. Her shoulder-length veil
fell from a 'matching headdress
and- she carried a white Bible

Worth was her sister's matron of
honor,Wearing a goWn of Oral
velvet. Mrs, Harry Thorpe and
-Mica 'Edith Sa.nburn, as brides-
maids, wore identical gowns in a
baby -blue shade, As flower girls,
Lautetta Adair and 'Elizabeth
Jacklin were also attired in baby
blue frocks.

Mrs, Alvin Higgins presided for
the final meeting of the year on
Tuesday evening of last week when
St, Paul's Evening Guild met in
the parish room of the. chureh. A
hymn, prayer by the president and
the Lard's prayer were used in 'the
opening exercises, - Mrs, Harold
Xing read the Scripture.
Mrs. William Lochridge gave a,
reading on Christmas customs
and -the Members sang "Silent
Night", Mrs. Jack Xing gave a
demonstration on aluminum etch-
ing.

During the business discussion it
was decided to cater for a Christ-
mas . banquet for the public school
teachers on Wednesday evening of
this week. The president was re-
quested to contact the president of
the Afternoon Guild so that plans
could be finalized for a co-opera-
tive effort in January, when the
Guilds will cator to the Salvation
Army for three :days. It was' also
decided to hold an invitation card
party in January.

led by the three -candle-lighters,
'Judy • Callen,- Patricia Shackleton
and Linda Templeman, who in turn
lit the tapers carried by each of
the) C:G.I.T. -girls. FollbwIng the
benediction pronounced by Mr, T,
G. Htisser, :the lights in the church
were dimmed as 'the girls. formed
two semi-Circles of light-beaters
singing "The First Noel".. A large
congregation joined the girls and
leaders in this lovely national ser-
vice.
The C.G.I.T. ushers iwere Esther
Kerr, Sandra MacLennan, Sandra
Riley, Freda. Lott, Susan Spry and
Carol Walsh.
Following the church service
the girls and their mothers and
friends gathered in the Sunday
School room for a social Mrs.
G. W. Tiffin congratulated the
girls :on their fine -performance and
welcomed the „gathering.
Mrs, C. Shackleton, was. intro-
duced • as a new • leader and Miss
Marriy MOffat ,presented Mrs. Jack
Reavie with a "bon voyage" gift
-from the C.G.I,T. Christmas car-
ols were . enjoyed -as Mrs. Goy ac-
companied the singing. All partici-
pated in' a 'few Christmas ',games
and,heard the story, "The Legend
of the Rose before the girls serv-
ed a tasty, lunch, : The evening
closed with "Taps".

Grosz -and is the• daughter of the
late Mt. and,•Mr`s.„• George Grosz.
She was horn in Maryliorough
Township and lived on the. family
farm near Kurtzyille until her mar-
riage,
Both Mr. and Mrs. Keil. arc in
good health and quite active. They
recalled that on their wedding day
it snowed so hard they thought
there wasn't going to he a wed-
ding, somuch so, in fact,: that all
the wedding guests had to stay
for the night, •
