Skilled Craftsman
On Titursday Nov, 26, James Mat-
thew Wild passed away in Wing-
hair!. Hospital following an illness
of several months, Ho was 84,
Mr, Wild was born in Windsor,
a son of Matthew Wild and Mar-
garet Longhorn, He was educated
in Windsor and London, Ont., and
'then became a craftsman In wood
carving. He followed this trade
in London, Woodstock, Ingersoll
and Toronto before coming to
-SA/Ingham in 1904, when he joined
the,. firm ,of „Walker, egg..„ Tile,
Wingham furniture manufacturing
concern, was the forerunner of Fry
& Blackball and Mr. Wild remained
with the firm until he was forced
into part-time employment a couple
of years ago, following an illness,
'and Only recently had to retire
completely.
He married Cynthia Moyer, of
Ingersoll, in Toronto in' 1898, who
died in, 1944. He was a member of
the United Church.
Surviving are two, daughters,
Mrs, Stafford (Cora) Chureher and
Mrs. John (Leila) Gaskell, both of
London, .and a son, Harold, with
whom • he- resided in Wingham. A
son, James' Earl, predeceased him.
There, are also eight grandchild-
ren and three great-grandchildren,
and four sisters, Mrs. Harry Smith,
Mrs. Samuel May, Mrs. Frank.
Christie and Mrs. Robert Steedman,
all .of London,
The funeral service was conduct-
ed by Rev, T. G. Husser from the
R. A, Currie & Sons funeral home
on Saturday afternoon, with inter-
ment in Wingham cemetery. The
'pallbearers were W VanWyck; F.
Templeman, G, Guest, H. Brooks,
J. Ernest and M. Swanson.

There passed away suddenly
the Wingham 'General Hospital on
TueSday, Nov. 21, Stewart William
Grant in his 38th year.
He -was born in Culross Twp.,
later moving to Teeswater, He
was the only son of Mrs. Alex
Grant and the late Alex. W, Grant.
On ,*June, 12, 1948 he married
Shirley' Yeoman of Wingham.
He leaves to mourn his loss his
widow, two datighters, -Karen and
Gail, .his mother and one sister,
,Olive, Mrs. Jack .1V1cBurney of
Wingharn.
He was a member of Knox Pres:
bYterian. Church and at the ,time -
of 'his -death operated buses for the
Wingham 'District High School.
• The 'funeral was held Thursday
at 2.30 from Knox 'Church with
ReV. T. J. McKinney '.officiating
