has been an officer of tlw zone for

the Goderich branch.

The team is comprised of -natives
'of China, Korea, Angola and Trini-
dad, four of the seven countries in
which the -United Church is work-
ing, They are. Sukuakueche of
Angola, Africa a school teacher,
(preacher and musician who studied
in Capetown, S. Africa; Timothy
Tam of Hong -Kong who studied
in China and Torontq, Ontario, who
is acclaimed as one of the out-
standing oriental church leaders;
Sun Chool Chough of Korea, pro-
fessor of theology at Sebul, lectur-
er and recently Korean delegate to
the Pan-Presbyterian Alliance
meeting in Brazil, S. America; and.
Ray Neehall a native of .Trinidad
receiving his early education there
and wtho, while a student at 'Em-
manuel College in Toronto, .was

Church of Canada met in Victoria

Daum M, Guest of -Centralia,
president of the London Conference
addressed the Meeting on the sub-
ject of 'The Church'', He men-
tioned that the church, in order to
effectively 'serve her Master', must
organize, vitalize aid spiritualize
her own program and ••witness in
the community. We must not be,
like the youth who started out in
a jalopy saying, "We don't know
where we're going but-we're on'our
Way", stated the president.
There are talented and clever
men in every community who are

presentation of the place of the
church In community communit lI fe, he con-
tended. Mr. Guest paid tribute. to
the laymen of the church who in
the last five years hay made the
ministry of the layman one of the
fastest growing movements in the
church, stating that 4,000 men, are
expected to attend• the regional
layman's conference this next year.
"You can have a church without
a minister", commented the. speak-
er, "but you cannot have a church
without laymen," The president
called for a deeper sense of our
responsibility to nourish ..the-.spir-
itual life as well 'as feeding our
bOdies and. minds. that IS
required for the triumph of evil",
he 'quoted, "is that 'good men do
iwthing at all." Men and -women

possible; we must keep it active
and vital, he concluded.
In the report from the Laymen's
Association a resoldtion that the
Presbytery concur in the request
that is before the Federal Govern-
ment to allow no -vote to be taken
on the repeal of the Canada Tem-
perance Act until action has been'

The 'Presbyterian Church will
hold anniversary services on Sum
day. The Rev. Jonathan Greene
of Brussels will be the preacher
and there will be special music by
the choir 'and a soloist: Morning
service will be at 11 •ari'd in the
evening at 7.30 standard time.
