Buried' at Harriston.
On Saturday, 'September 2e, Mrs,
Margaret Gorrell passed away in
-the Wingham -General ,Hospital-
her 99th year, Born in Howick
Township, January 18, 1861, she
moved to Minto Township at the
age of 14, In February, 1892, she
married Jas. Gorrell and lived on
the 6th of Minto until they moved
to Harriston in 1911. Mr. Gorrell
predeceased her in 1915.
Surviving are three brothers, Dr.
Jas, Hicks of Buffalo, Dr. Thos.
Hicks of Mitchell and formerly of
Buffalo and David Hicks of Har-
riston and two sisters Mrs. C. J.
Werner (Line.) of Mitchell and.
Mrs. R. A, 'Spotton (Millie) of
Wingham,
Mrs. Gorrel was an active mem-
ber of, the W.A. and a life member
of the W.M.S. of the United
Church.
The Private funeral ,service was
held from the Hardy Funeral Home
on Monday, September 28 at 2.30
p.m., with Rev. S. F. A. Bewell
officiating.
Pallbearers were Austin Stin-
son, Peden Connell, Lewis Prid-
ham, Garner Clyne, Hartwell
Strong, and Ervin Toner.
Interment was in. Harriston
Cemetery,
Mrs. John Redmond
Dies in Hospital
AUBURN—Funeral services were
held Thursday morning for the
late Mrs. John Redmond, who pass-
ed away in Victoria Hospital on
September 28th in her 85th year.
She was the° daughter of -the late
Mr. and Mrs. John Redmond and
was born in Goderich. Following
her marriage . tos the late Mr. Red-
mond they took up residence on
their farm .in, West. Wawanosh
Township. She was oredeceased by
her 'husband:. 25 years ago. She
was a membee of the. St. Augustine
RC, Church.
Mrs. Redmond, is survived by
one claughter, Mae, of Windsor,
three sons; William, Gus' and Theo-
dore all of WeSt .Wawanosh, and
seven grandchildren and one sis-
ter, Mrs. Hugh King, London. '
Requiem high mass was sung at
the St. Augustine R.C. Church,
with burial in the cemetery •there.
Pallbearers were Wilfred Kinahan,
Thomas • Webster;' Charles King,
William J. Hallahan, Mason Mc-
Allister and Brown Smyth,

AUBURN—William Henry Govier
passed ,away suddenly , in. the Hu-.
ron County Home, Clinton, on Fri-
day, Sept. 26 in his 78th year. He
was born in EastWeivahosh Town'-
ship in 1882, the son of the late
Harry Govier and Alice Sheppard.
Mr. Govier was married on Oc-
tober 21; 1909 to Margaret Buch-
anan, who predeceased him in
June, 1953. He was employed by
the ON:It:out of LOndesboro and
Vineland for several years, later
returning to the Westfield district,
and moving to Blyth in September,
1945. Surviving are two sons, Mut-
yin of Morris ToWnship, Robert of
Hullett Township and four daugh-
ters, Mrs. Charles (Alice) Anstay;
Mrs. Mel (Viola) Good; Mrs:Sart°
(Dorothy) Healy, all of Goderich
and, Mrs. Earl (Margaret) Caldwell
of East Wawanosh. There are '21
grandchildren and four great-
grandchildren. One granddaugh-
ter, Faye' Caldwell, predeceased
him. in 1954. • •• •
The funeral was held from the
Tasker memorial chapel with Rev.
E. IVIeLagan conducting the service
and burial took place in Blyth
cemetery. Pallbearers were Reg
and Keith Good, William Anstay,
Jack Caldwell, Murray Govier and
Bob McDougall all grandchildren,
Plower,bearers were three nephews'
Carl anti Albert Govier and Bill
Buchanan.
