A Labour Day tournament was
held at the local bowling green on
Monday when rinite from Atwood,
Harriston and Wingham took part
in ,the ladies' trebles.
Mrs. R. DuVal was in first place
with Miss Agnes Williamson and
Mrs. Ron Bell as other members of
the rink, Second prize was Won
by •Mrs. E. Harrison, skip, Mrs.
R. G. Gannett and Mrs. H. Aitche-

Leggatt of Wingham, received
we eta-Friday of the passing 'Of
their father, Thomas Henry Pother-
gill, at SWan Lake Hospital, Mani-
toba. Mr. and Mrs. Fothergill
moved to Bowsman River,. 325
miles North of Winnipeg, over
fifty years ago, and there raised
their family of six sons and three
daughters.
Mr. Fothergill was the son of the
late Mr, and Mrs. George Fother-;
gill of Westfield? who raised a
family of five sons and three
daughters, of whom, two daugh-
ters, Mrs. David Bell of Winghsm,
and Mrs. McCurdy of North Battle-
ford, Sask., are stilialiving.
Since illness four years ago, Mr.
Fothergill has been a semainnalid.
Mr. and Mrs, Fothergill celebrated
their golden wedding this Sureirrier,
when Me and Mrs. Gordon Leggatt
and' sons, were able to be present,
in August,
Mrs, Fothergill has been hospital-
ized for the past two weeks. Their
family, with nineteen grandchildren
and one great grandson, are all
living, Interment was , in the
Bowsmare1 /4 Oemetery on Monday

ion gathered in Wingham on Wed-
nesday evening and toured the ra-
dio and television station there.
Following this, they met at the

Clark Johnston contributing the
entertainment.
