TAKE NOTICE that a Petition, signed by the Electors
of the County of Huron, being persons qualified and
competent to vote , at an election of a member of the
House of Commons, in the said County of Huron, ad,
dressed to the Secretary of State of Canada, to the,
effect that such Petitioners desire that a vote of all
Electors of the said County of Huron be taken for'
and against the revocation of the Order-in-Council,
which brought into force and effect Part II of The
Canada Temperance Act in the said County of Huron,
will be deposited with the Registrar of Deeds for the
said County of Huron, on •the 13th day of August, 1959.
and further take notice that such Petition will remain
in the Registry Office for public examination for a'
period of ten days after the aforesaid date. before
being submitted to the Secretary of State of Canada.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Brown, Sr.,
Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Brown and
Miss Annie Diebel attended the
funeral of a friend, Mrs. Matilda
Harper, Mildmay, on Monday.
Mr. John Hupfer, Mrs, Alonzo
Sparling and Miss Hazel Sparling
were Sunday guests at the home'of
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Eaton, Sea-
forth. Mrs. Snarling remained for
a longer visit.
We are sorry to report Miss
Miss Anne McKercher, daughter
of Mr, and Mrs. Glenn McKercher,
Jamestown, is a patient in the
Wingham Hospital with rheumatic
fever. -We hope for a speedy re-
covery,
Messrs, Art Gibson, Harvey Mc-
Michael and Jack Willits, and many
others from Howick, attended the
Huron County Soil and Crop Im-
provement meeting at Clinton on
Tuesday evening.
Rickey Clarke had his appendix
removed at the Palmerston 'Hos-
pital recently and is now making
a speedy recovery at his home.
Mrs. Winnifred Clarke and son,
Ronald, of (Listowel, visited with
Mr. and Mrs, Jack Clarke on Wed-
nesday of last week.
Bill Wright should have been list-
ed as a flower bearer for the late
Larry Snell last week instead of
Bill Hart,

We arc pleased to report that Ian
Howes, is improving favorably in
the Wingham Hospital.

Bridgeport. on Sunday, where 'they
met Mr, and Mrs. Robert Tait of
Ajax and Mr. Brian Tait, who has
been visiting his grandparents, re-
turned home with his parents.

and 'Brenda spent Sunday with Mrs.
Brown's sister, Mrs. Frank Miles

his father, Mr. Albert Gallagher.

ill during the week-end and under
the doctor's care.
Mrs, Irene ,Paterson and her
granddaughter, Bonnie Montgom-
ery, Toronto, Mr, and Mrs. Ross
Paterson and family' of Kapuskas-
ing, and Mr.' Russell Taylor of
Woodstock, visited with Mrs. Wm.
Taylor and Charlie over the week-
end, On Sunday all visited with
Mrs. Aldred Ross of Tanswater.
