Larry Joseph Snell, 19-year-old
son of Mr, and Mrs. John Snell,
Bluvealei died early,Sunday
morning as a result of an accident
at Bluevale on Saturday night. He
was admitted to Wingham Hospital
following the collision and later
removed to London, He died .be:
fore arriving at Victoria Hospital.
Larry was born in Grey Town-
ship, a son of John Snell and the
late Gertrude Ames, He attended
Wroxeter Public School and Wing-
ham District High School, He was
in Grade 13 the past term and in-
tended to return to WDHS in, the
fall to complete his subjects in
that grade, and then attend uni-
versity. He was a member of.
Wroxeter United Church.
Surviving are his father and
stepmother, two brothers, Glenn
of Grey Township, Verne of Ottawa
and a sister Jeanne (Mrs. G. Mar-
ston) Oshawa.
•Funeral service will be held this
afternoon (Wednesday) from the
Moir funeral home in Gerrie with
Rev. Hird as officiating clergy-
man. The pallbearers, will be Ross
Nicholson, David Sanderson, Paul
Higgins, Jamie 'Sanderson, Davey
Edgar and Bert Pocaluyko, all
close friends, The flower bearers
will be Keith Nicholson, Bill Hart,
Paul Statia, Murray McLean, Rich-
ard King and Lester Machan,

Lived in Grey,
Drowned in Korea
Mrs. Irving Lent„ Grey Township,
received word on Sunday, July 12,
that her only son, Gordon Lee Fow-
ler, stationed at Camp Kaiser, in
Korea, had died as the result of
drowning. He had been taking
photographs of flood water and ap-
parently his foot slipped and he
fell into a gorge. He was reported
missing July 11 and his body was
not recovered until four days la-
ter.
Before .coming to Canada in 1949'
Gordon and his mother had resided
in Union, N.J. He attended the
Listowel 'District 'High School and
was very active in sports. He had
not graduated when he returned to
the United States in December,
1957, but later .completed his stu-
dies and received his certificate
from the United States Army. In
January Gordon was named sol-
dier of the month, for company and
battle group.
The body is being returned from
Korea to Evansville, Ind., and ser-
vices will be held there next month.
Gordon is survived by his wife,
Helen, and daughter, Marcia Lynn
6 and a son, Brian Kelly, 3,' of
Evansville, his mother, Mrs. Ir-
ving Lent of Grey Township and
his father, John Lee Fowler of
Newark, N.J. There are two alleles

Meeting Theme
WHITECHURCH—The WMS of
the Presbyterian Church held its
annual summer - Home - Helpers
meeting at the home of Mrs. John
McGee on Wednesday last, with 25
ladies and seven children present,
Mrs. McGee and Mrs. Fisher were
conveners for the meeting and the
theme was "Western Synod of
Canada".
Mrs. Dawson Craig, president,
presided, and gave the call to Wor-
ship, Scripture passages were read
by Mrs. Alex Robertson and Mrs.
Victor Emerson. Mrs. McBurney
read the story ,of Delilah, Mrs. An-
gus Falconer, of Jezebel, and Mrs.
Wm, Rintoul , of Athaliah, Erma
Forster led in the Glad Tidings
prayer. Mrs. Fisher, Mrs, DaWson
Craig, Erma Forster and Mrs. Mc-
Gee sang "The Rock That Is High-
er Than I", with Mrs. A. Gaunt at
the piano..
Mrs. Fisher then told the story of
the Western Synods, from B, C. to
Manitoba, telling of the new work
among extra population, With a
shortage of leaders, churches, min-,
!sten', in so many mining districts.
Mrs, Albert McQuillan gave an
Interesting reading and the meet-
ing was closed With the Lord's
prayer in unison, The next meeting
will be held at the home of Mrs.
