The East Wawanosh Council met
July 7th with all members present'
and Reeve Clarence Hanna presid-
ing. The minutes of the meeting
held June 2nd were read and ad-
opted on motion by Hallahan and
Buchanan,
McGowan -Purdon — That the
council of the Township of East
Wawanosh agrees to, sell a certain
portion of the Belgrave community
centre grounds op- No, 4' Highway
to the Ontario Department of
Highways for the sum of $50.00.
Buchanan-Hallahan— That the
council give a grant of $85.00 to the
Blyth Agricultural Society.
Purdon-McGowan — That the
road. and general accounts AS pre-
sented be passed and paid,
Hallahan-Buchanan— That . the
township mill rate for 1959 be 11
mills for general and 13 mills for
commercial.

A double ring ceremony was per-
formed by the Rev. Father Lahaye,
padre at the RCAF Station Ayl-
mer, when LAW Helen Shir-
ley Grant, Aylmer, exchanged
marriage vows with LAC William
Frank (Red) Hou hton, of the
.FtCAF Station Aylintr.
The bride is the daughter of Mr,
and Mrs. Angus Grant, of Middle-
ton, Nova Scotia, and the groom is
the son of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard
Houghton, Teeswater.
The bride, given in marriage by
S/L F, M, Harding, wore a baller-
ina-length gown of white organza
over taffeta below the fitted 'bod-
ice of trimmed nylon applique, the
gown cascaded into a full skirt.
Her fingertip veil was held by a
crown of pearls and sequins. She
carried a bouquet of red roses.

and family visited 'on Sunday last
at the home of his sister, Mrs. Wm.
Hooker of Dundalk and with her
mother, Mrs. Albert Clayton of
Grand Valley.
Mrs. E, E. Walker visited re-
cently for two weeks at the home
of•Coastable and Mrs. Roy. Walker
of Kitchener and with her friend,
Mrs. Joseph 'Barnes of Toronto.
While in Kitchener she attended
a concert in the Highland, Baptist
Church where her 11-year-old
granddaughter, Diane Walker,• the
daughter of Mr, and Mrs, Roy
Walker, conducted a 60-Voice child-
ren's choir. This was a tremendous
achievement for the very talented
girl.
Rev, and Mrs. Robert Watt and
family, who have been visiting for
two weeks with his parents, Rev,
and Mrs. W, J. Watt, left on Tues--
day for their home in Toronto. Mr.
Archie Watt, of Toronto, was. a vis-
itor with his parents one day last
week, •
Miss Janet Gaunt was able to
leave the Hanover 'Hospital 'on Sat-
urday after her: operation for ap-
pendicitis.
Mr, Cameron Scott of Palmerston
has been visiting for the past week
at the home of his aunt, Mrs, Jas.

Ivan and Wilson DaW motored
to Toronto on Satunday and visit-
