Mrs. Wellington Har- grave, president, was in the chair and the meeting opened with the hymn "What a Friend We Have in Jesus". Mrs: Jack Douglas read the Scripture •lesson. Roll call was answered by 15 members. Also pre- sent were members of the W,A., St.. Martha's Guild, Gorrie and friends in the community. Members were reminded of the cooking school which will he con- ducted in the Community hall in May by Mrs. Striver of CKCO and committees were named to look af- ter the event. Mrs, William Sothern then in- troduced the guest sa.aker, R. Tompkins, Listowel florist, who gave a very splendid address on flower arrangement and b alb planting. At Community Hall FORDWICH-Little Ann Simmons, four-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Simmons, While playing, around the community hall, last* Tuesday, fell and injured her left eye either' on a stone or cement, She was rushed to Victoria Hos- pital, London, where she under- went surgery Tuesday night. She was confined to hospital till Fri- day. " It is hoped there will be no ser- ious effects when she returns next week to London to have the ban- dages removed and have the stitch- es taken out.
