McLaughlin, died at West-
minster Hospital on WedneSday of
last week in his 34th year, He is
survived by his wife, the former
Eleanor Lougheed and five child-
ren, Wendy, Gail, Ann, Kevin and
Cecile, and his mother, Mrs, C, L,
McLaughlin of Toronto.
Harry Fryfogle Was
Life=long Resident
On Wednesday, March 18, Harry
John Fryfogle . passed away in
Wingham General Hospital after a
long illness. Mr. Fryfogle would
have been 45 in May.

two sisters Grace (Mrs, Harcourt
Mundy) of London and Vera (Mrs.
Charles Rowe) Milverton,
Dr, -Alexander Nimmo of St. An-
drew's Presbyterian ' Church, of
which Mr, Fryfogle was a member,
conducted funeral services from
the S. J. Walker funeral home on
Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock,
Interment was made in Wingham
cemetery.
Stewart and Andrew Scott, Wal-
ter Lockridge, Jack Colvin, Gordon
Kerr and Bud Burgess were pall-
bearers,
Joseph Vogan Was
Church Eldey 30 Yrs.
In' ill health for the past four,
years, Joseph -Vegan, Victoria St.,
died in the Wingham Hospital on
Sunday, March 22,
Mr. Vogan, who had; farmed un-
til coming to Wingham in 1949, was.
an active church worker and served
as elder of McIntosh Church for 30
years. He was highly esteemed by
his neighbors and frienda.
A son of the late George and
Sarah Vogan, he Was born in Wel-
lesley Township, Waterloo County,
in 1871, and came to Carrick
Township as a small boy with his
parents, settling On lots 6 and 7,
concession 3. Ile attended Inglis'
School, Mr, Vogan was the last
surviving member of a* family of
13 children.
In 1905 he Married Anne Jane
Harris of Huntingfielcl in ,Cartick
Township, at the honie of her Par-
ents. , Mrs, Vegan survives with,
three sons, Harry of Moncton,
N.B., Bruce Of Toronto and Ross
of Wingham. A daughter, Lillian,
predeceased him in 1944. There
are five grandchildren.
Funeral service was at McIntosh
United Churell on Tuesday after-
noon with Rev. Harold West of-
ficiating. Interment Was in Mc-
Intosh cemetery,

VISITS LOCAL WI
Mrs, W. Bradnock, of Auburh,
district president, was the guest
speaker at the regular meeting of
the Wingham Women's Institute
on Thursday afternoon, held 'in the
council chamber. Mrs, Barcinock
based her remarks on the; Mary
Stewart Collect, describing howAt
originated, why it was composed
:and its general use by women's
organizations, all over the county.
She explained' the meaning 'of each
verse separately. Mrs, N. T. Mc-
Laughlin thanked the speaker for
her talk, It was also announced
that the district annual meeting IS
to be held on May' 20th in St.
Helens.
Mrs, • McLaughlin, convener of
the resolutions committee, told of
the procedure used when compil-
ing a resolution and discussed the
resolutions currently being voted
on by Institutes in the area. Mrs,
D. S. MacN,aughton explained how
resolutions are dealt with at the
provincial level.
Some Irish songs were sung by
the 'members. A paper on St. Pat-
rick was' given by Mrs. McLaugh-
lin and Mrs, •Bower, gave the an-
cient 'history of Ireland.
Mrs, N, Keating read the mintues
of the previous meeting and, the
correspondence, Mrs. R. A. Pow-
ell, president, conducted the meet-
ing. The annual meeting will 'be
held, in April and all conveners' re-
ports are to 'be ready for the meet-
ing. The roll call will be the pay-
'meat of fees and the election of
officers will take place. A good
attendance is requested.
A hake sale was conducted by
Miss E, Bower, which netted a nice,
sum and the meeting closed with
the national anthem and a social
half hour.
Women's Societies
Hold Joint Meet
The Evening Auxiliary of the
Wingham. United Church met in
the church March 17 for the month-
ly meeting. Miss Alice Herd was
in charge. After a short busineis
period the, Auxiliary , joine,d, , with
the Junior Woman's Auxiliary and
Afternecin Woman's Missionary
Society ,members in the Sunday
SchOol room, where a joint meeting
was held. Mrs; H. Swatridge Was,
in charge of the meeting, the theme
being "Christ Lifts".
The devotional period was taken
by Miss McPherson, Mrs. McKay,
Mrs, McLaughlin and Mrs. Vogan.
Patsy Walker and Linda Hutton
delighted the' ladies with a duet,
Dr. A. Nimmo was the guest
speaker. He was introduced to
the meeting ,by Mrs. Jack Reavie
and spoke on his . recent trip
abrOad,. Mrs, Nimmo accompanied
him to Holland, England, Scotland,
and Dr, Nimnio's homeland, Ire-
land. The film of Holland and
Ireland which' De. Nimmo shoWed,
along With his Irish brogue and'
blarney proved very pleasing to his
audience,
