The minutes of the last meeting
were read by the secretary, George:
.Johnston. Nero!), Anderson,favored
with a solo, accompanied ,by Mrs.
'George Michle, The treasuror gaye•
the financial report which showed
balance on hand 9f $600, a de-
crease from last year. The audi,
ter's report was given 'by Mrs; Clifford Logan.
The secretary's report was heard
and in the absence of the treasurer,
the- financial report was given' by
the assistant treasurer, Mrs Wight'-,
man. Sick visits were alsO report-
ed.
The business dealt with correa
pondence received, in which two
thank-you notes were read. The an-
nual meeting Of the Huron Presby-
terial will be held in Clinton on
January 13, with Mrs. F. C, Knox
of Toronto, who was recently In
the )3hil Field in India, as guest
Speaker. A. full report of the •acti-
vities and highlight's of Society for
the past year were given by Mrs.
0, G, AnderSon, who also gave a
review- of the study book for 1959,
entitled, "Missions" Are 'Changing".
The offering was received,
Mrs. Levi Bieman read the Scrip-
ture lesson from. St. Luke 10: 1-9
and Numbers 6:22-27. •A missionary
letter from Rev. James Dickson
of Formosa was read by Mrs, Athol
Brulco and Mrs. J. C. MeBurney
read a letter from Miss Jean Brown
of Japan, to whoin used Christmas
cards had been sent during the
summer, The Glad Tiding-6 prayer
was given by Mrs. Garner Nichol-
son and a hymn was sung, The
preSident closed the meeting with
prayer, The hostess served a dainty
lunch and a social time was enjoy,'
ed by those present.
,Mrs, Lawrence Vannitn, gaye the
librarian's report, showing an in-
erease of over 400 books being
read during the previous year, a
total of 2,092, Miss -Stella Nethery
read two Poems, one about Abra0,
ham Lincoln and the second a
poem of Wilson MacDonald's which
she had heard hie i recite himself,
Joyce Procter gave a cornet, solo
and a. second film was shown, This
was an adventure film in color..
Richard Procter was chairman
for the election of officers, which
resulted as follows: Board mem-
bers, Alex McBurney, Mrs, Richard
Procter, Mrs, Harold Vincent, C.
R. Coultes, Mrs. George. Michie,
Mrs. Gordon Bosnian. and Miss
Stella, Nethery. A chairman will be
chosen later. Mrs, Ross Anderson
taken from The Glad Tidings. This
was followed -by a short prayer and
a hymn was sung,
