The superintendent, Ronald Mc- Michael, conducted the service,• ably assisted .by the young men of the Young People's- Bible Class, Billie- Higgins, James Sanderson and Ian Hoives, while the girls of the same class were a choir, sup- plying a background of quiet music inthe singing of Christmas carols. The Christmas story was made very - real with a setting of the Manger of Bethlehem with Marjr and Joseph. Mrs. George Gibsbn told the story, "If I Had Not Come", The children, all carrying white parcels, marched up to the manger -and presented their gifts, as the shepherds and wise men/ of old presented gifts to the baby Je- sus. The sharp shooters for Wingham -were Maurice .Stainton with a 'hat, trick, Bruce Lott, Doug Murray and Murray Stainton, who tallied up two each and Doug Wallace With a single. Port Elgin's G. Walmsley, flash- ed the red light twice, while Nickel, Snyder, Brown and. Wood fired in singles, First *Period Wingham opened the scoring at the 5.50 mark of the- first period when Doug 'Wallace scored alone. Nickel, of the visitors came -back unaided to tie the score. Bruce Lott made his first appearance on a lone drive and again gave Wing- ham a one-goal edge. At the 14.30 mark Port Elgin's Snyder came 'through and again tied the score. Assisted by Maurice Stainton and Gord Cerson, Doug Murray -chalked up his first of the night to put Wingham out in front. Penalties were handed out to Barry Fry- fogle and Snyder for roughing. -Second Period Port Elgin Opened the action iri the second frame at 6.20 with Walmsley taking the honors. Three minutes later Maurice Stainion worked his way through to score unassisted to mark one up for the home team. Led by Walmsley, Brown scored for Port Elgin to tie the score at 4-all. Wingham's next two goals were scored by Murray Stainton, assisted by Doug Murray and Gord Corson, to put Wingham two goals up at the end of the per- iod., Third Period Port Elgin, with plenty of drive left, tied the score in: the first four minutes of the third frame, when Walmsley scored unassisted, folloWed -'by Wood on an assist from Walmsley. At the 9.25 mark Wing- ham broke loose ,as Doug Murray assisted by Maurice Stainton . start- ed • the home team on a. foin-goal scoring attack. Maurice Stainton came up with the next, two goals, aided by Doug Murray. Then, at 17.05 Bruce Lott flashed the blink- er for the last time of the evening to 'end the ,game at the 20-6 mark. FORMIC!'
