CHRISTMAS CONCERT
AT COMMUNITY HALL
OORRIE-The Gerrie community
hall wore a festive air with two
gaily decorated Christmas trees
and other seasonal decorations
when the Gorrie public school, sen-
ior and junior rooms, presented
their Christmas concert on Thurs-
day evening, There was a good
attendance as many looked for-
ward to seeing the children, who
had been well trained,
The program (vetted with a wel-
come song and a song of the Christ-
mas spirit by, junior girls In color-
ful costumes. A second number
featured rhythm hand and sing-
ing,
A cantata followed with song and
drama, showing the Bennett fam-
ily with •Mrs. Bennett making pre-
parations to entertain ' special
guests who failed to show up for
the Christmas dinner. At the re-
quest of the children and her hus-
band the Smith family with their
ten children from down the street
were invited to share their Christ-
mas and the Bennett family found
the secret of a happy Christmas.
Characters were Mr. Bennett,
Larry Simpson; Mrs. Bennett, Jo-
anne Strong; Tom, Ken Farrish;
Sue, Carol Robinson; Grandmother
Bennett, Tena Van de Camp; the
maid, Carol Keil; Tabby, the cat,
Judy King; the neighbor's eat, Lin-
da Johnston; Mr. Smith, Richard
Collings; Mrs, Smith, Myrna Nuhn,
Santa Claus, Alex Hamilton.
Gifts were distributed after the
program, The teachers are Tom
O'Krafka, principal and Mrs, Ruth
MacDonald. Mrs. Carl Douglas is
teacher of music.
