Services at fordwich
FORDWICH— Remembrance Day
services were observed at Trinity.
Anglican Church, on Tuesday with
Rev, E. C, Attwell in charge of the
worship. He was assisted by Rev.
A, F. Gaidner of the United church
and Rev. J. H, Bird of Gorile.
After church service the Legion
Branch ' and Ladies' Auxiliary
marched to the cenotaph where
wreaths were placed by the town-
ship, Legion Branch, Ladies' Aux-
nary, Province of Ontario and pri-
vate parties.
Rev. J. McClure, of Moleswortli,
had charge of the cenotaph ser-
vice.

FOR.IYVVICI-1—A presentation was
held in S.S. No, 6, Howlett, for the
nesviAveds, Mr, and Mrs. Stanley
Zurbrigg, formerly Ruth Hender-
eon. William Scott was master of
ceremonies and Hugh Litt read the
address.
-"Then' "were' presented with a,
-Cheorne table and chair to match,
a kitchen clock and tea service.
Numerous other gifts were present-
ed also. The bride and groom ex-
pressed their thanks. Lunch was
served and the remainder of the
evening was spent in diming to
the music of Timm's orchestra.
Card Party Held
FORDWtOli-The e first of the
weekly card parties was held in
the :community hall on Tuesday
evening of last week with eleven
tables in play. The winners were:

lady, Mrs. A. Johnson; low gent,

story.
Mrs, Melvin Craig, leader, gave
the story from the study book,
"Hanna's New Home".
A social time followed the meet-
ing, with games, riddles by Mar-
garet Craig and lunch.

and attended the Royal Winter

for Retarded Children and a col-
lection Was taken for the project,
which amounted to $33.00. -
Mrs. Sperling Johnston, president
of the Women's, Institute, thanked
all who had assisted for the eve-
ning and presented gifts to Major
Vickers and Mr, Hastings. Re-
freshment§ were served at the e'er
by the committee, Mrs. Nf. Craig,

Armstrong conducted a 'contest.
The December meeting will be held
Thursday, December 11th and will
be the Christmas party; as well as
the: annual meeting.
The Guild is invited to join with
the. W,A, in the basement of the
church oh Wednesday, December
10th. Mrs. E. Attwell closed the.
meeting with prayer and a social
half hour was spent. Lunch was
served 'by the hostess, assisted by
Mrs. Bruce Armstrong.
FORDWICII---Tbe W.M.S. of the
Fordwieh United Church was en-
tertained at the home of Mrs,
W. E. Heins:trick for the November
m6etina. The theme for the meet-
ing was "Justice",
The president', Mrs, Ken Greharri,
gave a few thoughts on the theme
stating Christ is not an accuser,
but the greet excuser for! our
faults. As the group thought of
justice they sang the hymn "Land
of Our Birth", Prayer followed..
The minutes were read by \the
secretary, Mrs, Parker Eurig.
Thirty-ene answered the roll call
on "Justice,: The' offering was
taken and the dedicatory prayer
was made by Mrs. Walter Hors-
burgh. Reports were given by the
community friendship secretary,
who announced that Mrs. Collins
Was the shut-nrc for the month,
The literature secretary suggested
two book for the month and the
citizenship secretary gave a report
pn "Neighbours" and reviewed the,
radio • and television report , from
the Presbyterial.
The worship service was con-
ducted by Mrs, E. Patterson, Mrs.
Harvey Gibson and Mrs. A. F.
Gardiner„ ,
Mrs. W, A, Gibson assisted by
Mrs. Anson Ruttan, Mrs. A. F.
Gardiner, Mrs. W.' Horeburgh and
Mrs, Patterson reviewed the study
on Trinidad. The people here are
hungry for the Christian religion.
The Islands of the West Indies are
closely related to Canada in that
the same language is ueed. They
are both nations in. the British
Commonwealth.

duet, The dismissal prayer was
given by'lnrs. Graham.

the church for the graduation ex-
ercises of the Baby Band members
into Misstep Band en TueSdey of

Marilyn Campbell, President of
the Iniesion Band, opened the event
with a hymn followed by the Mis-
sion Band Purpose in linden and
the Mission Band Prayer. A mo-
ment's silence was observed for
Remembrance Day.
The graduetien exercises were
cenducted by the Baby Band super-
intendent, Mrs; R, H. Coultes, She
told the story of a small fndian
Girl, Mrs. George Michie gave "A
Mother's Prayer",
Bob Taylor 'and Ralph Logan
formed an arch and the Baby Band
members passed through to Mission
Band, Mrs, Coultee presented each
with a certificate and Mrs, Harold
Vincent, Mission Band leader, pre-
rented each with a Mission Band
pin,. The following were the gradu-
ates:. Vern Walsh, Wayne Hopper,
Gordon Rinn, Richard. Anderson,
Donna Cook, Donald Cook, Mary
Ellen Taylor, Neil Vincent, Doug-
las Walker.
Theme of the worship service
was, "Living as Brothers", The
Scripture lesson was read by Alan
Beaman; a poem,, "One Family"
was read by. Wendy Fear, followed
by prayer by' Bob Taylor and a
hymn, The offering was received
by Linda. Conites and. Donna Gras-
by and was dedicated by Murray
Vincent.

"Here Comes, Dirk", prepared by
Mrs, H., Vincent in. 'the form of a
puppet show with the following

bazaar Successful Future Tight
For Bluevale BELGRAVE—A very good crowd
turned out on Thursday afternoon
the, hazaan and afternoon
tea sponsored by the Ladies' Guild
of Trinity Anglican Church', held
in the Knox United Church base-
ment. There was a good display
of sewing, produce and home bak-
ing from which to choose,
Rev, R. Meetly opened the
bazaar. The group 'realized approxi-
mately, $160.00 from this annual
project.

Near it the residence of Ernie King
has been closed in and the roof is
in place.
For some time two trailer homoes
belonging to Winghaes: citizens,
on R. H, McKinnori's property,
have been in use. Bluevale 'his *
neat post; office, a well-furnished
public, libeary, both ,nearly: pew,
two churches and a • cOrninunity
hall, all well deCorated and, well
kept, Bluevale looks like a. .goOd
place to live. .

Woman's 'Association of Knox
United Church have made the fol-
lowing plans for their 'bazaar this
week, in the church basement; It
was agreed to open the bazaar at
3.00 o'clock. Mrs, A. Coultea was
.appointed to make posters and
Mrs. C, Chaanney to announce it
in the three churches, It was de-
cided to have ,the menu the same
as -last year and Mrs. George
Michie is to make the menu cards.
