Ashfield visited on Sunday at the
home of her sister, Mrs. Howard

Mr. John Purdon was able to re-
turn home from Wingham Hospi-
tal on Wednesday with his forearm
bandaged to his side.

The. October Thankoffering meet-
ing' of the Young Woman's Aux-
iliary .of 'Wingham United Church
was held in the Sunday Sdhool
room. With Mit. A. G. Gibson in
charge.
The theme taken was "The Tri-
bal Relationship". The meeting
(named with the hymn "Now Thank
We All Our God". Mrs. H. Swat-
ridge led in prayer, followed by
the Scripture read by Mrs, A.
Green. Mrs C, Ritchie gave a com-
ment len the Scripture. Following
the offering Mrs, W. Haselgrove
led in prayer.
MISS Jane Bone of Five Oaks
Training Centre, Paris, Ont., spoke
briefly and informatively, on the
different courses and the benefits
to be' derived from them. S.h e also-
shoWed which illftatraed the
camp and its activit)ea.
The special speaker for the eve-
ning was Rev, T, G, Husser, who
told a most interesting Thanksgiv-
ing story, "The Five Kernels Of
Corn" and the meaning of each in
