She is 90 years old and just one
year ago underwent an operation
from which she made a remarkable
recovery_
Word was redeived from Galt
last week that the three-year-old
daughter of Mr, and Mrs. Fred Sie-
'fert, formerly of Fordwich, had
been struck by a car and suffered
severe injuries to her head and a
fracture of the leg,
Mrs. Williani Carswell, 85, is at
present confined to Listovtel Hospi-
tal.

several days last week at the home
of Mr, and Mrs. Jack King.
Mrs. L. B. Gollop and two child
ren of Toronto are spending twr
weeks at the home of Mr, and Mrs

Family Night
FORDWICH—The Women's In-
stitute held the October meeting in
the community hall on Tuesay
evening in the form of a family.
night. A delicious supper was serv-
ed to 95 people. This was a very
special occasion, as one of the
members, Mrs. Ernina Collins, Was
celebrating her 95th birthday on
Wednesday. She was presented
with a birthday cake and a half
dozen red roses.
The roll ball was answered by the
men---"How to Keep 'My Wife
Happy", and brought forth many
interesting answers, Cards and
dancing were enjoyed for a few
hours after supper.

FORDWICH — The people of
Fordwich were shocked to learn On
Friday that Mrs, Russel Nickel had:
suffered with an accident while on,
her way •home from'Harriston, Her,
aar was struck by the CPR train
about two miles north of Harriston
on Highway 87,
She suffered an injury to her*
back, torn ribs and severe' shock,
She is confined to Palmerston Hos-,
pital. -
The car was carried about a half
mile down the track and is a com-
plete wreck. At the time of going
to press her condition was slightly
improved.
