Joseph Brophy

A well-known and sincerely re-
spected citizen. of _Wingham, Jpseph
Brophy, died at St, Joseph's Hosni,
tal, Louden, on Wednesday of last
week. Mr, Brophy, who had been
only a short tune, w.as 70 years
of age.
Born in West Wawanosh Town-
ship, he was .a son of the late W11=
liana Brophy and Margaret Me-
Court. He reeeived his early edu,
cation at the .St, Augustine Sew -
ate School and later took up.farm-
ing hi his. native township. In 1932
he and his family, moved to Wing -
ham', where Mr, Brophy was em
played' until his retirement In 1955
He was married ' at ChepstoW on
r
Se tember 1~Eth 1920,� o the forme.

Mary Desmond of Pinkerton,' who
survives, with three sons and four
daughters; Gerald,. Jack and Des-
mond- of Wingham; Mrs, Wilfred
(Mary) White and Miss Margaret
Brophy of Wingham; Mrs, George
(Frances) King; Teeswater and
Miss Patricia Brophy of London.
There are 1,0 grandchildren, A sis-
ter, Mrs. Angus (Annie) McKin-
non, died in 1937.
Mr, Brophy was .a faithfid mem-
ter of Sacred Heart Roman Catho-
lic Church In Wingham, and of the
Holy . Name Society and the. St.
Vincent de pati ,Society.
Rev, R.. Durand officiated for
requiem high mass in Sacred Heart
Church at 9.30 Saturday morning
and interment in the .Roman Cath-
olic cemetery followed. Pallbearers

Joseph Brophy

A well-known and sincerely re-
spected citizen. of _Wingham, Jpseph
Brophy, died at St, Joseph's Hosni,
tal, Louden, on Wednesday of last
week. Mr, Brophy, who had been
only a short tune, w.as 70 years
of age.
Born in West Wawanosh Town-
ship, he was .a son of the late W11=
liana Brophy and Margaret Me-
Court. He reeeived his early edu,
cation at the .St, Augustine Sew -
ate School and later took up.farm-
ing hi his. native township. In 1932
he and his family, moved to Wing -
ham', where Mr, Brophy was em
played' until his retirement In 1955
He was married ' at ChepstoW on

Mary Desmond of Pinkerton,' who
survives, with three sons and four
daughters; Gerald,. Jack and Des-
mond- of Wingham; Mrs, Wilfred
(Mary) White and Miss Margaret

(Frances) King; Teeswater and
Miss Patricia Brophy of London.
There are 1,0 grandchildren, A sis-
ter, Mrs. Angus (Annie) McKin-
non, died in 1937.
Mr, Brophy was .a faithfid mem-
ter of Sacred Heart Roman Catho-
lic Church In Wingham, and of the
Holy . Name Society and the. St.
Vincent de pati ,Society.
Rev, R.. Durand officiated for
requiem high mass in Sacred Heart
Church at 9.30 Saturday morning
and interment in the .Roman Cath-
olic cemetery followed. Pallbearers
