Children Week Is Slated For Not3ember 16-27 The Canadian Association for Re- tarded Children ended its first na- tional conference with a passionate call for parents, the community and all levels of government to co-op- erate in helping all retarded child- ren. The president; Laurie H. Hall of Montreal, announced that Novem- ber 16-21 will be Canadian Retard- ed Children's Week. Prime Minister Diefenbaker sent a letter of congratulations from the Federal Government, endorsing the work of CARC and supporting re- tarded children's week. * "It is encouraging to know that something constructive is being done to develop new concepts to meet the needs of both the mentally retarded person and his family," he said.
