daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Burns
H. Moffatt, became the bride of
William Harold Johnston, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Johnston. all
of Bluevale. Rev. W, A. Williams
of Brussels, performed the cere-
mony in a setting bright with
autumn flowers.
The bride, given in marriage by
her father. was goWn.ed in white
embroidered nylon, featuring a
fitted bodice, short sleeves and
pointed neckline. Her French il-
lusion veil was held by a tiara of
seed pearls and she carried red
roses and white shasta mums,
The maid of honor, Miss Bessie
Campbell, wore a ballerina length
gown of aqua., crystal Charm and
carried a bouquet of yellow Mums.
The' groorrisman Was, Mr: Ken-
neth Johnston, cousin of the groom.
Mrs. Nora Moffaft, aunt of the
bride, played,, the wedding music:

church parlor.
For travelling the bride wore a
red woo) suit with black accessor-
ies. and a corsage of white mums.
After a wedding trin to the

Hospital, London, on Monday of
this week. The former Eva Evelyn
Ford, she had been a resident of
London for the past 35 years. She
was in her 70th year. •

Born in Turnberry
A well-known and life4Iong resi-
dent of this district, Mrs, Samuel
McBurney, died on. Friday in•Wing-
ham General Hbspital following a
very short illness. Mrs. McBurney,
who was 87 years. of age had look-
ed after her own home on Minnie
Street and . had attended church
services the Sunday previous to her
death.
The foriner Annie Johnston. was
a daughter of the late William
Johnston and Augusta Homuth, and
was born in Turnberry Town-
ship. She attended Holmes',
School. On June • 5th, 1895, slic
married Samuel Mel3urney at the
home of her parent's by the rector
of St. Paul's. Church. Her husband
predeceased her in 1038.
iThe McBurney's farmed in Easi
Wawanosh and following the death
of her husband she lived for a Short
time with her sons and moved to
Wingham 15 years ago.
Surviving are a son, Gordon, of
East Wawanosh, and three daugh-
ters, Hazel (Mrs. James Hardy)
TurnberrY, Violet (Mrs, Aloe Shia)
St. Thomas ands Ella. (Mrs. H. M
Shiell) of Wingham. Two sons pre-
deceased her, Milton in 1944: and
Edward in 1952,
Of a fartilly of seven, she is sur-
vived by a brother, Robert John-.
