back to 1863 when a Church was organized and a cluarelt building erect-
ed, on the lot where the Lower Town school. stands, in 1875 the church
was sold to Lower Wiligham as a school and the present building
erected in 1876. The first stationed minister was the Rev. Frederick

Prior to tht:; wedding a' miecel-
laneous shower was arranged by
Mrs. George McKay, Joyce- Jacklin,•
Delina and Joyce McKay and it
was held at the home of Mrs. Ned
Thompson.' Games of, bingo and
contests were held and 'the .guests
made 'a bride's hook. A dainty
lunch was served by the hostess
and helpers.
The following Saturday a trolls-.
seau -tea was held at the home of
the bride's mother, Mrs, Morley
Petteplace,Greelmeh,.where friends
and neigbours of the bride and
groom attended.

Belgrave United Church was the
scene of a pretty late summer
wedding on Saturday, September
6th, at 5 p.m.,, when Rev., C. Krug
united in marriage Gwendolyn Ann,
daughter of. Mr. and Mrs, W. C.
Brown of Wingham and Ian Chis-
holm Maclaurin, (Toronto; son of
Dr. and Mrs. J, C, MacLaurin, of
the same city.' •
The church was decorated with
white gladioli and fern. William M,
Connell was organist.
The bride was given in marriage
by her father. She chose a formal
gown of silk organza fashioned on
princess lines!The moulded'empire
bodice was accented with appliques
of alencon lace and styled with a
scooped neckline and shirred sleev-
es. A coronet trimmed with seed
pearls ''held her Shoulder qength

For travelling the bride wore a
royal blue wool dress With white

man.
' Following the reception in the
church parlors the yOung couple
left on a wedding trip to eastern
points and the United, States. Mrs.
Dernerling wore a blue grey suit
'with navy and white accessories
and a corsage of white mums, She
also' wore pearls with ,matching
earrings, the gift of the groom.

'from Akron, Ohio; Niagara Falls,
N.Y.;. Toronto, ,London, Hamilton,
Sarnia Stratford, Embro, Listowel,
Wingham,. Clifford, Gorrie, Ford-

bridesmaid, and Miss 'Ruth Ann,
Redman, flower .girl, were gowned
alike in mint green street-length
dresses. Their headdresses were
feather caps in matching shades
with their white and yellow baby
mums with yellow streamers'.
Vernon Redman was best man
and ushers were Luke Johnston,
Grant McIntyre and Cliff Bennett.
The bride's mother received in a
navy 'blue nylon_ lace over taffeta
with powder 'blue accessories and a
corsage of white baby mums. The
groom's mother wore a navy
French, crepe dress with white and
navy accessories, and a corsage of
white baby mums.
For the wedding trip to Detroit
and other points, the bride donned
a coffee brown ,Acrilan wool two-
piece dress. Her accessories were
white and brown and she wore a
corsage of sw._.theart roses.
