Church Groups Need
Great Co=operation
The 1st vice-president Miss C.
Gilkinsen occupied the chair at the
regular meetine•,t of 'St. Andrew's
Presbyterian Women's Missionary
Society on Friday. Mrs. John
Mitchell read the Scripture lesson,
and gave a short meditation on the
Passage. Prayer was offered by
Miss Agnes Mitchell.
After the reading of the minutes,
lettere from' Miss Laura Collar,
Nigeria, Africa and Miss Ellen
Anderson,, Br. Guiana, were read
by Mrs. T. A. Currie. A solo "Art
Thou Weary?" sung by Mrs. Wm.,
Ford, was much enjoyed.
Mrs. Leslie l'"ortune introduced
the topic for the day "The Total
Church—Whrkihg Together". She
told of the concern of the church
at large that greater co-operation
be developed within the church
between Organizations of men and
women. The increase' in female
participatibn in secular labour,is a.
great loss 'to ' the work of the
church. Mrs. Geo. Day recommend-
ed several passages of Scripture
which dealt with the subject of
equality of responsibility. In open
discussion the necessity of men and
women working together in stew-
ardship of time and money was
brought forward.
