To Discuss Possible Pool
A Very important question will
be discussed at a public meeting
in the council• chamber at the town
hall, in Wingham on Monday even-
ing next, September 8th, at 8.30
O'clock. A public gathering has
been called to thoroughly review
the proposal that a swimming pool
should be constructed here for the
use of the people of Wingham,
Belgrave, Bluevale, Whitechurch,
Turnberry. East Wawanosh and
Morris,
The meeting has been called by
the 'Wingham Water Safety Cont-
mittee, headed by Williant B. Con -
roil, chairman,
'The committee met a Week ago
and decided unarilmously that some
actloh must be taken at once to
provide a safe, supervised swim-
ming spot of some kind, to pre-
vent, If at all possible, a recttr-
rence of the frequent drownings
which have shocked this communi-
ty .within the past few months.
At the meeting it was stated that
a complete{ up-to-date pool and
dressing rooms would cost in the
neighborhood of$35,000.00, The com-
mittee, requested The Advance-
TImes to seek some Measure of
public opinion in regard to the pool
Object and what assistafice might
be expected, A simple questionnaire
form Was carried and already
there is eonsjderable indication
