of Ontario, with their instructor,
Mr. William Roedde, attending the
library course being held at Wing-
ham, enjoyed a bus trip last Thurs-
day and visited libraries at Ripley,
Lucknow, Bluevale and Goderich.
They expressed themselves as
highly pleased with the Bluevale
library, whose librarian, now tak-
ing the . course, is Mrs, Harry
Elliott. The group ended their
tour with a picnic at Goderich.
Mrs, A. D. ' Smith and Miss
Eleanor have returned from sev-
eral -weeks' vacation at Seattle
and the Canadian West.
Mr. Harold Moffatt has taken a
trip to the West,
Mrs. Raymond Elliott and Mr.
Gordon Messer attended the fun-
eral service for Mr. Frank Sharpe
in Toronto on Tuesday.

Was 88 Years
Mr. and Mrs. Milo Casemore and
family held a picnic at Gorrie in
honour of Mrs. Etta Day on her
88th birthday. Mrs, Casemore is
niece.

Gladioli and ferns formed the
setting in Knois Presbyterian
Church, Teeswater, for the wedding
of Colleen Gertrude Stobo and Wil-
liam Kenneth 'Robertson on Satur-
day, August 23, at twelve o'clock
noon. The bride is the daughter of
Mr, and Mrs. Robt, Stobo, A.R. 2,
Teeswater and the groom is the
son of Mr, and Mrs, Harvey Rob-
ertson, Bluevale, Rev, T. S. Main-
ney officiated. Mrs. R. Kirig
was the organist, and Fred Martin
of Beaton, as , soloist, • sang "0
Perfect Love" and "Because".
The bride, given in marriage by
her father, wore a floor-length
gown of Brussels lace with nylon
yoke and Chinese neckline with'
irredescent sequins 'and long
point sleeves. It had a full bouf-
fant skirt of lace and net' over
bridal satin. The docha-style
head-dress of nylon net and; sequins'
held her fingertip veil of French-
silk illusion, She carried a bouquet
of red roses and white stephanotis.
Joyce HaMmer of Kitchener was
maid of honour- wearing a baller-
ina-length gown of blue silk nylon
chiffon torso fitted bodice, brief
sleeve, portrait neckline and full
bouffant taffeta skirt. She carried
pale yellow mums. The bridesmaids,
Misses Gloria and Lloye Stobo,
sisters of the bride, Wore dresses
similar to that of Miss Hammer, of
pink and turquoise with matching
head-dresses, carrying bine and
white mums, respectively. ,
Bruce , Robertson of 13luevale
attended his brother and the ushers
were brothers of the bride Donald
and David Stobo.
A weddjng dinner was served in
the basement of the church at
which Mrs. Stobo 'received the
guests wearing a dress of pink'
nylon mesh with white accessories
and a corsage of yellow and mauve
gladioli. Mrs. Robertson wore a'
dress of serene blue Shantung
fashioned in semi-ehemis style with
white accessories and a. corsage of
pink gladioli.
For travelling, the bride chose •a
sheath dress of chalk white Maygos
shell Linen with white accessories
and a corsage of red roses.
The happy couple will reside on
the groom's farm near Bluevale.

Mrs. Rebert' Moffat entertained
at a trousseau tea in horror of her
daughter, Miss Shirley Moffat,
prior to her marriage to George
Forler which took place August
20th -in St. Andrew's Presbyterian
Church, Wingham. -
Receiving with Mrs. Moffat and
her daughter was Mrs. Forler,
mother of the groom-elect. Door
attendants were.Miss Linda Seddon
in the afternoon and Miss Laurie
Appleby in the evening, Mrs, Bert
Moffat of Langside and Mrs. Currie
Moffat of Teeswater .were in
charge of the register.
The 'dining-room table was
centred by a three-tier wedding
cake, while on either Aide can-
dlebra held lighted candles. Over
the table hung a large white bell
from which pink and white stream-
ers flowed.
Pouring tea in the afternoon
was Mrs. Simpson McCall of Strat-
ford, aunt of the bride-elect. In
the evening Mrs. Alex Wells, Lon-
desboro, aunt of the bride-elect,
and Mrs Lawrence Bingiman, New
Hamburg, aunt of the groom-elect
presiding at, the tea table. Serving
lunch in the afternoon were Mrs
Jim Currie and.Mrs. Ron Seddon;
in the.evening Mrs. John McInnes
and Miss Margaret Forler.

gifts were shown by Mrs. Stanley

of Smithson School, Kitchener, of
which Miss Moffat was a member.

cott and Gerald H. Weber, *ex-
changed vows in a double-ring
ceremony at Northside• United
Church, Seaforth Saturday noon.
The bride is the daughter of Mr,
and Mrs, J. Arnold Westcott, Sea-
forth, and the groom is the son ,of
Mrs, Weber, Stratford, and the late
H. G. Weber. The Rev. John
Stinson of London officiated,
The bride chose a floor-length
gown of silk organza featuring a
bouffant skirt with appliques of
roses and ribbons. The bodice em-
broidered with seed pearls, was
styled with short sleeves and a'
portrait neckline. A Juliet cap of
silk organza held her illusion veil
and she carried a bouquet of Talis-
man rases, •
Mrs. Ronald ,Evans, Agincourt,
was matron of honor for her 'sister
wearing a gown of silver-greark
crystal charm. The bridesmaids,
Miss Shirley McPhee, Toronto, and
Miss Marlene Weber, Stratford,
were similarly gowned in beige
crystal charm.
William Shore, Stratford, was
groomsman and ushers were
Howard Moffatt, London, and
Clare Westcott, Scarboro, brother
of the bride,
For a wedding trip to New York
State and Vermont, the bride
donned a navy, silk two-piece suit
'with blond fur cape, printed silk
hat and corsage of white carna-
tions The eouple will reside in
London.
A graduate of Stratford Teach-
ers' College, the bride is - on the
staff of Northbrae Public School

ern Ontario, IS on the staff of
Watford District High School,

The regular meeting of Wing-
ham W. I. was held en Thursday in
the council chamber. Mrs. R. A.
Powell, president, presided. The
meeting opened in the usual way
with the singing of the Ode and
repeating the Mary Stewart Collect,
Mrs. N. Keating, secretary-treas-
urer, read the minutes of the last
meeting and correspondence. The
extension course from the Depart-
ment was announced, the date sug-
gested was 'November 18, 1958,
which -was- favourable to the mem-
bers, was decided on.
, Mrs: E. Parish was, appointed as
pnblic relations iefiresentative. Roll
call followed, "Name a famous
person born on a farm".

tion was very Interesting. The
