of service is a milestone for the
Wroxeter United Church congre-
gation, The 'church was tastefully,
decorated with :flowers for this
special occasion. Several baskets
Were placed in the church in mem-
ory of many of the pioneer, one
for the family' of the late Mr. and
Mrs, Relit. Miller, Mr, and Mrs.
Robt. Millen, Mr. and Mrs. T. A.
Gibion, Mr. and Mrs, Jim, Morri-
son, Mrs. Wm. Mitchell and Mr.
Edwin Palmer,
Negriy 500 attended the morning
service when Rev, G eo, Wylie,
B.A., Bp., of Wallaceburg, was
guest speaker. He is a descendant
of one of the first pioneer families„
He spoke on ,"The Century of
Christian Witness", choosing for
his text Ir Kings, chapter 8, verse
67, "The Lord God be with ,us. as
he was with our fathers; let him
not forsake us." He referred to the
time of Solomon when he built the
temple with nothing too good for
the !Muse of Gbd, That was the
way the pioneers built this church,
sacrificing many things in order to
have such a place for Worship,
The first service known in this
community was held in a log house:

Members of the Sunday School
of the local Salvation Army Corps
journeyed bY bus to Kincardine
last Saturday. A full program gave
everyone a chance to take part.
The committee in charge of ar-
rangements included Mrs. Florence
Henry and Mr. and Mrs. Jos.
Clark.

Permits Approved
The apPliation of Albert Foxten
to erect an apartment above a
garage building at the rear of his
Josephine Street property was ap-

garage building had been delayed
at a previous' council meeting until

made. Plans for the new building
were found to be satisfactory and
the -original building permit was
