One of. Wingham's most noted
annual events Is Flower Sunday at
the United Church. The occasion
is actually the Sunday School An-
niversary, with the floral display
being used to illustrate and de-
velop ,the central e theme of the
services.

with theaguest speaker being Mrs.
W. H. (Isabel) Pyke of the CBC
Sunday School of the Air program.

ment on each of the three evenings
of the Fair, with three separate

visitors on Friday and Saturday
afternoons 'as well.

Treasurer, will officially open the
Trade Fair on Thursday evening,'
Accompanying him will be John

E. McKinney.

This yearly open house affords
an excellent opportunity for the
residents of the' high school dis-
trict to see the results of the edu-
cational program which is carried
out in the fine new high 'school
building.
Three Staff Members
Honored at Party
About 100 attended a CKNX recite;
and TV staff party at the Golf
Club Thursday, evening of last
week, when employees and manage-
ment, their wives and girl friends,
gathered to honor three members
of the staff.
A, delicious 'barbecue dinner was
enjoyed. Later G. W.' Cruickshank
addressed Rodger Schwasa, assist-
ant farm editor who has accepted
aTesition with, -aha'CBC ,in
Bob ditibert then presented.

bulged with gag items that caused
Much merriment. The'recipient's
remarks also provoked laughter.
Betty Anne Giesler 'and Doug
McGowan, whose marriage takes
place In the near future, Were also
honored when G, W. Cruickshank,
on behalf of the management and
staff presented, them with a,. nest
of Dielcraft tables with leather
tops. The women. of- CKNX and
wives gave Betty Anne a beautiful
tablecloth with matching serviettes,
the presentatiOn ,being made by
Margaret*Brophy. Both Betty Anna
and Doug replied, ,
The remainder of the. evening
was spent in- dancing, crottinole,
table tennis and, cards. Lanett was
served at midnight,
Special guests were Miss Mary
Byers of Kitchener, Mr, Schwass'
fiancee and Miss Giesler's parents,
