EIGHT CHRISTENED AT UNITED CHURCH A Mother's Day service wt's held in Wingham United Church, on Sunday morning when Rev, C R. Durrant spoke from the text fOund in Isaiah 66-13; "As one whom his mother comforted, so will I corn- fort you", He reminded 1the con- gregation of the great influence which the mother -carries in the home and the, opportunity which is hers to train the family in Chris- tian service. Mr. Durrant cited several great men, such as William Booth, John Wesley and Abraham Lincoln, who publicly acknowledg-, ed what they owed e. the early home training, which they had re- ceived from their mothers. 'From this, he stressed the need of Chris- tian revival in the home, Which should be built up and trained in faith in God: The music was provided by the junior choir; led bit' the director of music, A. D. Bennett. During the service- the following children were christened by' Mr. Durrant: Susan Karla, daughter of Mr. and Mrs, Allan Francis Walker: Maureen 'Lynn,' daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Murray.
