room of the church, last Thursday
evening, with 21 present and -four

She opened the meeting with a
call to worship and singing of the

Battle Won". -Mrs. Ken Dicksorf
read the account of the resurrec-
tion in Mark's gospel, 16: 1-20. Miss
Mae Johann gave the mf:ditation

prayer.

Expect 300 Projects
At Craftsman's Fair
More than '306 projects are ex-
pected • to be- entered by Ontario
vocational and ;industrial' 'arts
students in the fourth annual Ont-
ario Students', Craftsman'i- 'Fair
sp,onsored by Ford Motor Company
of Canada, Limited, under, the dir-
ection of a committee chaired by
HarveY Fenton, Pickering District
High School. The fair, is to belpre,„
seated at Eaton's College Street in
Toronto; May 26 to 30 inclusive,
and entries will be judged by a
group of experts -under the chair-
manship of E. A. aVfenanc, Strat-
ford Teachers' College.
Select winners from the 'Ontario
Pair will be sent on to Dearborn,
Michigan 'for competition in the
International Industrial Arts
Awards sponsored by Ford Motor
Company. More than 5,000 out-
standing student .projects selected
in local contests from allover the,
United_ -States and Canada will be
in the InternatiOnal competition.
Fourteen divisions divided into '
30 classifications are provided for
the competing students vvhcl will be
judged' on the basis of grade level,
The diVisions cover students from
Grade to. Grade 12:
Divisions open to competition
are: mechanical drawing, wood-
working ,electrical, graphic arts,
leather,. ceramics, jewelry, models,
wrought metal, pattern making and
moblding," plastics, machine' shop,
architectural drawing. •

end.Visitor with her daughter, Don -
na, and other relatives in Kitchen-

The ladies are reminded of the
meeting of the Women's Institute
in the community hall this
(Thursday) afternoon at 2.30.
In spite of the busy season there
was a good attendance at the pot
luck sUpper c sponsored by the Wo-
men's Institute in the community
hall on Friday evening, The ex-
cess food was auctioned off by
Mrs. George Alton, bringing the
proceeds to nearly 360,00.
Mrs. Allan Miller has been a pa-
tient in the Wingham Hospital for
a. few days.
Mr. Ian Edwards, recently ar-
rived from England, has been em-
ployed by Mr. Andrew Gaunt and
with Mrs. Edwards and, their three
children, John, Feona and Sheila,
has moved into the former Fred
Webb house.
Mrs. Sohn Miller, who has spent
the past few months in London,
was a visitor wi h r. and Mrs.
Fred McQuillin before returning to
her home in Lucknow.

coner was injured in a motor acci-
dent near London, on Thursday
and was in the hospital there.
