Mrs. John Dorialdson's group. •
After a solo, "The Lord Is My
Shepherd", by Mrs. "C:- Lee, the
guest speaker, Mrs, McKinney of
Teeswater, was introdUced. Her ad-
dressewas based on 'the first verse
of the' 46th Psalm, "God is our
refuge and strength."
This refuge has' been in exist-
ence for thouhands of years.- God
is our refuge in -temptation: He
will keep us safe from all ills.
In the times of danger no Israel-
'Res had far to go for refuge. There
is only room for one God because
He fills `Heaven•and earth:
There are many w stories about
the fight of ' our' Presbyterian an-
cestors for liberty. During the
reign of Henry VIII, Cardinal Wol-
seley said, "If I 'had served my
God is faithful as I have served my
king, He would not have deserted
me in my old age." ,
We must inake God our refuge by
accepting Christ as. ,our Saviour
and Our Lord. Although , 'we may be
interested; and know quite a bit
,about- Kipgriont, it not
enough,' We must trust ourselves to
ilitn so that 'we can say, "God I
will not be afraid."
