Easter Thankoffering Meeting 'in
the Sunday school room with their
mothers as guests.
The president, Lynda Green,
opened the meeting with a call to
worship significant of EaSter. The
Mission Band Purpose was repeat-
ed in unison and -birthday greet-
ings were sung to Lynda Reavie,
The worship period consisted of
the Easter -Scripture lesson read
by Helen Carbert and followed
with a prayer by -Susan Spry. Ad
appropriate story of, "A Lily that.
Bloomed too Soon", was given by
Mrs. Conron.-
A vocal duet by Lynda Reavie
and, Gloria ,Reed. and,an alto, horn
solo by Ronnie,Vogan were mitch
enjoyed by all, Two films Were
shown and the meeting closed with
prayer. A social half-hour was
spent.

Mrs. A. G. Wight
Was Huron Native
Mary Campbell Dow, wife of
Albert G. Wight of Arkona, died
in Strathroy Hospital on Thursday,
April 10. •
The deceased was born on Nov-
ember 8, 1872 in East Wawanosh,
the daughter of the late James and
Elizabeth McGuffin DoW. She re-
ceived her early education and
spent her childhood ,in Huron
County. In 1897 she married John
Martin of Whitechurch and for
some years • she lived. in Cobalt.
Later she returned to reside in
the Wingham district. Mr. Martin
died in 1927.
• On December 8, 1931, she was
married at Exeter by the Rev, C,
J. Moorhouse to. Albert G. Wight
of Bosanquet Township.. She went
to reside on the Wight homestead
on Highway 7 'until she and Mr.
Wight retired to Arkona, on June
30, 1949. She has been confined to
bed for -the past two years but
suffered a serious attack on Mon-
day, from which she never re-
gained consciousness.
Mrs. Wight has been a member
of the United Church and former-
ly the Methodist Church. She took
an active part in church work and
for some time was organist of the
Brick Church in Wawanosh.

She is survived by her husband,
who is at present a patient' in
Strathroy Hospital, a step-daugh-
ter, Mrs. John A. (Georgina) Mc-
Intyre of Forest and two step-
sons, Gordon and Floyd Wight of
Bosanquet Township. Also sur-
viving is one brother, David Dow,
of Toronto. Three brothers James
and Wellington of Wingham, and
William John Dow of St, Marys,
and one sister, Elsie Boomer, pre-
deceased •her,
The body rested at the Gilpin
Funeral Home, Thedford where
services were held on Saturday,
April 12, the Rev, H. P. Cook of-
ficiating, Burial was in Arkona
Cemetery.
Pallbearers were four ;grandsons,
Floyd McIntyre of Forest, Ronald
Wight of -Strathroy, Lawrence
Wight, of Windsor, Wilfred Gordon
Wight of Bosanquet and two neph-
ews, Earl and Earnest Wight of
Bosanquet. Fjowerbearers were
Ronald Wight, John Hamilton,
Gordon Cutts, Howard Percy.
Relatives Who attended the fun-
eral from this area included James
and Charles Martin and Bert
Thompson, Eelgrave, Mrs, Eccles
Dow, Donald, Nelson and Ivan of
Wingham, Mr, and Mrs. Reuben
Appleby, of Glenannan, John Mc-
Gee of Wingharn and J, Bee-
croft of Wingham.
Alibert G, •Wight of Arkona is
now a patient in 814 Joseph's hos-
pital, London, having been trans-
ferred there from Strathroy Hos-
pital last Week,
