Danger to Pigs
Salt poisoning in pigs is a clear-
mit and easily recognizable condi-
tion 'affecting the animal's' tissues.
However, some of ' the symptoms
of the condition resemble other
diseases, This makes a proper diag-
nosis important. The Canadian
Veterinary Medical Association
says, salt poisoning develops when
a high level of sale is given to, pigs
without 'an increase in drinking
water: Symptoms include blindness,
twitching of nose and neck- mus-
cles, circling or • running, and
eventually , unconsciousness. The
Association says- salt poisoning
was easiest to produce in experi-
ments when water was severely
restricted. The condition did not
occur at •all when fresh water was
available continuously.'

the tornado which cut through.
Bruce County last year, the gov-

area", but in the accident survey
taken in Bruce it was shown that
farm accidents cause twice that
amount of loss each year. To find
the cause of accidents and there-
by learn how to avoid' them a

soon.
The following reseintons
