"The 'Bunny Hop", last Wednesday
night 'which. proved to be a great

offering meeting of the Belgrave
Evening Auxiliary was held on '
Tuesday evening in the church,
when members entertained as their
guests the Afternoon Auxiliary.
The president, Mrs. Gordon Bea-
man, was in charge and opened the
'meeting with a hymn, f011owed by
the Lord!s, prayer and an Easter
poem.
Minutes of the last meeting were
read .by Mrs. Clarence Hanna, and
19 members. answered -the roll call.'
The treasurer's report was read by
Mrs. Robert Grashy. IVIembers were
reminded'of the hale that is to he

Meeting , held recently in Clintpte

strong and Mrs. George. Martin of
the Afternoon Aincliary. A 'letter of
thanks was read from the Mission
House, 'Skidgate, B.C.,' expressing
thanks to the group for the parcel
of jewellery which had been sent
there.
Mrs. Clarence Hanna's group was
in charge of the devotional period.
The Scripture lesson was read by
Mrs: John Nixon, Meditation' was
by Mrs. Clarence Hanna. An Easter
story, "Cross Bearing", was read by
Mrs. :Ross Robinson. A vocal num-
ber was enjoyed by the quartette
of Marilyn Campbell, Joyce Arm-
strong, Karen Anderson and -Ruth
Michie, accompanied by Mrs, Gee.
Michie, The story, "The Service Of
Holy Vire" was read by Mrs. Leslie
Bolt, Mrs, Hanna led in prayer
and a hymn. closed the service:,
Pictures of the National Park in
Manitoba and of Eskimo crafts
were shown and much enjoyed. Mrs.

The 'meeting was opened with a
reading on. Good Friday and the
Easter story by the president, Mrs.
G. F. Johnston, The minutes were
read 'by the secretary, Mrs, Wm.
Campbell.
Plans were made to serve for the
C.G.I,T. banquet. The date of July
1st was _chosen for the annual
garden party. A quilt le to be giVen
to the Harold Wallace family.
Quilting was done for the rest of
the afterno-oe. and 11„ pot luck lunch
Was enjoyed following the Bone-
niction.

Promise", Mission Band Easter
Thankeffering meeting, held on
Friday afternoon, April 11, in the
United Church hall, was, very well
attended, when over fifty-five
children arid their guests were
piTsent, 'The mothers arid mem-
bers of the W.IV1,S. joined with the
Mission Band in this meeting.
With the president, 'Brian . San-
derson, in the chair, the service
began with the singing of the
hymn, "Jesus Christ Is Risen To-
day'e, followed by the call to, wor-
ship. Gaif'Seatia read the Scrip-
tare lesson taken from Mark 19,1.-i1,
14-17. •Lenne Oteambersied in pray-
er, after which the president wel-
comed the visitorx..

.sung by 'the Juniors, The offering,
received 'by Stanley" Ridley and

thing any little girl could wish for,
but who learned . that it was .by
sharing what she had With others
that gave true happiness,
Kaye Wright thanked Miss Hup-
fer for coming to tell the story,
and expressed the wish of the Mis-
sion Band members that she would
return sometime again.'
Catherine Edgar read an, Easter
story, and following this, piano
music was played by some of the
girls, Ann Gibson played "Away
in a Manger", Leone . Chambers
played "Springtime", "Cradle Song"
and "Minuet", and Louise Edgar
played "Health Song", "Counting
Song", and "Lullaby", A poem
'entitled "Visitors" was read by
Dale McLean and a reading, "Dafe
Teas"' was given by Lynne Wright.
"God Will Care for You", a song
by 'the Seniors was followed by "An
Easter Poem" by Stanley Ridley.
Members of the WIVIS, were
advised that their regular April
meeting scheduled for that even-
ing had been postponed for 'one
week and would be held at the
home of Mrs. Stewart Higgins on
Friday evening, April 18, at 8,30.
They were also reminded that they,
along with members of the Star-
light Creep were invited to he
guests of the WA. on Tuesday
evening, April 15, in the church
hall, when the special speaker will
be Mr. Tompkins, florist, of Lis-
towel. The singing of two verses of the
hymn "Can a Little Child Like
Me", and the repeating of the Mize
pe,h 'benediction brought the Meet-
ing to a close, A social time and
lunch served by the Mission Band
members was enjoyed.

GORRIE— Mite. Mary Cowan,
widow of the late Arthur Cowan
passed away in the Wingham Hos-
pital on Monday evening. She was
the former Mary Crew' Mciewen,
daughter of the late James and
Elizabeth McEWen. She 'was born

9181; birthday two months ago.
Her early life was spent at Clif-
ford, After her marriage to Ar-
thur Cowan, they farmed at Orange
Hill, Later they lived on Con. 13,
Howieltand on. Cott. 10. She was a
Member, of the United Church,

Gorrie; three sisters, Mrs. James
