Brussels Midgets win, lose
Brussels Midgets won one and
lost their first regular season game
when they faced off against Milver
ton and Zurich in WO A A hockey
action last week.
The first game in Milverton on
Dec. 14 saw the Brussels team con
tinue its winning ways as they
defeated the host team by two.
Brussels leapt ahead early scor
ing three goals in the first period,
while shutting out the Milverton
crew. Mike Robinson, Tim Machan
and Mike McNichol scored the
points, while Mike Bromley and
Ryan Finch picked up assists
Things became a little tighter for
the team in the second when Mil
verton closed the gap to one point
before Bromley nudged in some
insurance to end the second. Assists
went to Finch and Chris Stevenson.
Machan set up Wayne Alexander
who drove in the first goal of the
third period, followed shortly ther-
after by another shot on net by
Greg Fritz, assisted by McNichol
and Brian Van Steelandt. Milverton
added two more before the period
ended ending the game at 6-4 for
Brussels.
On Wednesday, Dec. 16, Brus
sels suffered their first loss of the
regular season in a hard fought
home game against Zurich. The
only goal of the game was scored
by Zurich late in the first period.
Brussels dominated play and out
shot the visitors; however, the boys
just couldn't manage to pop one in
past the Zurich goalie.
