Greeters at Londesboro United
Church on Sunday, Dec. 13 were
Jack and Helen Lee. Ushers were
Ed and Mary Salverda and John
and Jane Hoggart.
The Junior choir sang an anthem.
The sermon topic was “How much
longer?”
In the announcements it was
noted that Huronview fellowship
time will be Thursday, Dec. 17 at
l: 15 p.m.
Confirmation class will meet for
supper at the home of Lillian
Hallam on Thursday, Dec. 17 at 7
p.m.
Tea party
Marie Rammeloo, of Rammeloo’s Guest Home in Morris Township, pours tea for guests at the

Burns UCW to donate $500
The December meeting of Bums
U.C.W. was held on Thursday,
Dec. 3 when 18 members and two
visitors sat down to a delicious
turkey dinner served by Linda
Horbanuik.
After dinner Gay Salverda was in
charge of the Christmas meeting.
She gave a reading on Christmas
morning. Song sheets were handed
out and several Christmas carols
were sung accompanied by Ida
Leiper on the piano.
Ida Slaverda read the scripture
from Luke 7. Rev. Paul Ross led in
prayer. Christmas readings were
given by Gladys Leiper, Ramona
Jamieson, Renee Snell and
Margaret Taylor. Gay called on
Rev. Ross to give the Christmas
message.
Renee Snell conducted the
business and gave a reading, any
sort of weather. Roll call was
answered with a Bible verse and
minutes of the last meeting were
read. The treasurer's report was
given by Margaret Taylor. A
motion was made by Jean Scott to
give a grocery credit to a needy
family. This was seconded by Gay
Salverda.
Gay Salverda made a motion to
give $500 to Londesboro United
Church.
The meeting closed with prayer.
Gay and her group served
refreshments. Members exchanged
Christmas gifts. On behalf of the
Burns' U.C.W. Joan Middegaal
presented Rev. Ross with a
Christmas gift. Rev. Ross thanked
the ladies.

UCW discuss Jesus* birth
The December meeting of
Londesboro U.C.W. was held on
Monday evening Dec. 7 at 6:30
p.m. in the church. Rev. Paul Ross
led in prayer. The meeting began
with a delicious pot luck dinner.
Members of Burns and Auburn
United Churches were invited to
attend.
Rev. Ross spoke of when Jesus
was bom and what Bethlehem was
like then. Helen Lawson thanked
Paul and presented him with a gift.
Barb Bosman and daughters,
Kelly and Lisa Elliott, gave two
musical numbers.
WI enjoy pot luck dinner
The December meeting of
Londesboro W.I., was held on
Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 9. It
began with a pot luck dinner at
12 p.m. Grace was sung.
Roll call was answered by, how I
recycle my Christmas cards. Lucky
cup prizes were won by Ramona
Jamieson, Wilma Higgins and
Helen Lawson.
A donation in memory of Dora
Heard will be sent to the Erland
Lee Home.
