Optimists sponsor Child Find 8 tables in play at euchre There were eight tables of euchre played Monday evening at the Ethel Hall. Dorothy Dilworth, Grace Smith and Brenda Boyer were the con venors. Winners were: high man, Frank McKenzie; high lady, Margery McCourt; low man, Keith Turnbull; low lady, Lois McLean; most lone hands, Ross Stephenson and Shirley Verstoep. The 50/50 draw was won by Mrs. Bette Hood for $11.50. The next euchre will be Nov. 30 at 8:30 p.m. 4H’ers prepare dinner By Cynthia De Wit At the last meeting of ‘The Great Chicken and Egg Project’ we prepared a full course meal. It included chicken stock soup, stuffed chicken, turnip puff, potatoes, pickled eggs and deviled eggs. For dessert we had Alaska Baked Bounty. It was most delicious and we were stuffed. During the meeting we received 4-H spoons and pins from our leaders as Nov. 9-14 was 4H week. We are looking forward to the North Huron Achievement Program on Nov. 23 at the Belgrave W.I. Hall, as we will be enjoying a pot luck supper with other 4-H'ers in the county. Leaders of the project were Barb Martin and Linda Rush. We're looking forward to the next club after the New Year. The Huron County Chapter of Child Find and the Optimist Club of Blyth and District are co sponsoring a Kid Check Program on Saturday, Nov. 28, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Blyth Public School. This free program is open to parents with children who range in age from newborns to 18-year- olds. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Kid Check helps parents assemble an information package that could help police in the event Grey appoints auditors Grey Township Council held its regular meeting on Nov. 15 and passed a by-law which appointed the firm of Good, Meyer, Litt & Schwartzentruber as the Town ship's auditors for fiscal years 1992-1995. Council endorsed a resolution from the village of Cardinal with respect to-its opposition to the 0 bituaries PETER HALLAHAN Peter Hallahan of McKillop Township died as the result of an accident on Wednesday, Nov. 18, 1992. He was 32. Mr. Hallahan is the beloved hus band of Johanna Valenteyn. He was the dear father of Amanda Jean and Meaghan Jennifer. He will be forever missed by his parents Mau rice Hallahan and the former Mary Hicknell of RR1, Belgrave. Also left to mourn his passing are his brothers and sisters, James of RR1, Belgrave, Dennis, Joe, Irene and Mary Ann all of RR3, Blyth. He was the loved grandson of Simon Hallahan of Blyth and Matilda Hicknell of Cambridge. Mr. Hallahan rested at the Whit their child was abducted or went missing. This package enables parents to record a complete description of their child including fingerprints and medical and family history. Parents are also asked to include a recent photograph; however, a photographer will be on hand to take necessary photos. Child Find is a registered non-profit organization. Its purpose is aiding in the location and recovery of missing children. Child Find educates both children and parents removal of eligibility criteria of previously designated senior citizen buildings. In other business Council approved grants of $250 to the Cranbrook Cemetery Board and $100 to the Brussels Santa Claus Parade. The next regular meeting of Council is scheduled for Dec. 7 at 9:30 a.m. ney-Ribey Funeral Home from Fri day until Saturday. Parish prayers were held at the funeral home on Friday evening at 9. A funeral mass was held Saturday at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Clinton. Pallbearers were: Steve Flynn, Frank Saunders, Andrew Gibson, Keith Himes, Rick Dalrymple and Gary McCutcheon. Interment is at St. Michael's Cemetery, Blyth. Child Find also uses the media in its search for missing children by broadcasting lists of missing children on television as well as publishing photographs in newspapers, magazines and posters. The Huron County Chapter of Child Find Ontario was established in 1991. Since then, Child Find has completed successful Kid Check 4H members judge eggs by Wanda Martin The third meeting of the Ethel ‘Eggstra-ordinary Chics’ was held at Barb Martin's. It was opened with the 4-H pledge and the club theme song. Jennifer Terpstra and Lorraine Blake demonstrated how to cut up and de-bone a chicken. Then the members crammed into the kitchen to prepare pumpkin pie, microwave brownies, egg nog, crispy baked chicken and chicken stirfry. While the food was cooking, the 4-H'ers judged a class of eggs anc. watched Linda Rush candling eggs. Finally it was time to eat. The samples of creations -,v s delicious. The meeting then closed with the 4-H motto. programs in Wingham, Exeter, Zurich, Bayfield, Goderich, Lucan and Gorrie.
