Seniors group plays euchre On Wed., Nov. 18, 20 members attended the meeting of the Friendship Club held at Maple Villa. President, Mary Lowe welcomed new members and guests. After the singing of “O Canada” a two minute silence was held in reverence to our fallen heroes. The Lord's Prayer was repeated in unison followed by the secretary and treasurer's reports. “Sez I to Myself” was read by Ethel Brewer. On motion by Martha Logan, seconded by Vema Tunney the club will contribute $25 towards the purchase of candy for the Santa Claus parade. Adah Smith made a motion seconded by Martha Logan that a donation of $50 be given to the Canadian Legion for the use of the auditorium and its facilities. The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 16 at 12:30 p.m. and will take the form of a pot luck dinner at the Canadian Legion. It was moved by Mary Davidson and seconded by Freda Pipe that a turkey roll be purchased. Adah Smith agreed to prepare it. A $3 gift exchange will be held and Freda Pipe, Vema Tunney, Mary Lowe and Ethel Brewer volunteered to donate two prizes each. Euchre followed. Winners were: high man, Mary Lowe; high lady, Eluned McNair; low man, Vema Tunney; low lady, Ethel Brewer; birthday in November, Edna Pearson and number closest to 50, Alice Brothers.
