The cement and iron railing were toppled after being struck by a truck on Friday night. The pick­ up had gone out of control after hitting a patch of black ice. Trio sings at church service On Nov. 8, the Brussels Menno- nite Fellowship congregation was ministered to by a guest men's trio, Chris Exel, Tom Osgerby, and Gord Chambers. Pastor Tom Warner preached from Matthew 9: 1-17. The sermon dealt with Holy Fear, Holy Faith, and Holy Freedom. Following the Christian Education Hour the congregation and guests enjoyed fellowship and a pot luck meal, in the Fellowship Hall. A Covenant Renewal Workshop was held Sunday evening at the church. The Venture Club had a successful meeting Thursday evening. On Friday evening the grade sevens and eights gathered at the church for their regular activity night. A self-help craft sale (articles made in Third World Countries) will be held at the Mennonite Church early in December. The Youth will host an exchange weekend next weekend for youth visiting from other churches. northbound on Turnberry St. at a stated speed of 55 km. per hour. President Gertie Kellington welcomed the ladies and read a Remembrance Day poem. Worship was in charge of Sarah Stephenson and Laura Barbour. Sarah read a poem. The hymn, “God Love” was sung. Scripture was from Ephesians 1st chapter and read by Laura who also gave a reading about what each of us remembers and thinks about on Nov. 11. Laura gave the introduction to the guest speaker, Joanne King. Jean Bewly and Betty Graber took part at the beginning. Joanne led in prayer. The hymn “Spirit of the Glen Bray in hospital The best wishes of the communi­ ty are extended to Glen Bray, who is a patient in University Hospital, London. Mr. Bray was taken to the Wing­ ham Hospital on Sunday, Nov. 1, suffering from an aneurism. He was later taken to London by ambu­ lance. VILLAGE OF BRUSSELS PUBLIC MEETING CONCERNING A PROPOSED ZONING BY-LAW AMENDMENT TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the Village of Brussels will hold a public meeting on Monday, December 7, 1992 at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Brussels Municipal Office to consider a proposed zoning by­ law amendment under Section 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990. The purpose of the proposed amendment is to correct a clerical error on Key Map 4 of the Zoning By-law. Key Map 4 currently incorrectly Identifies "Queen Street" as "Halliday Street". There is no change in the zoning of any properties. ANY PERSON may attend the public meeting and/or make written or verbal representation either in support of or in opposition to the proposed zoning by-law. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION relating to this proposed zoning amendment is available for inspection between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. at the Village of Brussels Municipal Office.
