and devotions at Hullett School.

The October meeting of
Londesboro W.I. was held at 8 p.m.
on Wednesday evening, Oct 14.
Helen Lawson served as
President in the absence of Lois
Elliott. The meeting opened with
the Opening Ode, Mary Stewart
Collect and “O Canada”. Roll call
was taken by each member
bringing a gift article for the
Huronview bazaar in December.
Leita Wiley and Elizabeth
Lawson had the programme.
Elizabeth read a poem, “The A to Z
for Fruit and Vegetables”. Jennifer
Dixon played two piano solos.
Guest speaker was Rosemary
Armstrong from the Huron Day
Care Centre at Huronview.
Elizabeth read a poem, “Autumn
Blush on the Leaves”. Helen read
the minutes of the September
meeting then gave the financial
report. Correspondence was read
from Betty and Ken Hullev.
There will be a one day
workshop on Friday, Nov. 13 at
Holmesville Community Centre.
The Huronview Tea and Bazaar
is on Oct. 29. Elma Jewitt made a
motion which was seconded by
Marjorie Anderson to give a
donation to the Poppy Fund.
Euchre will be held on Oct. 30,
Nov. 13 and Dec. 4.
Over 500 people
take part in
Life Chain
Over 500 people took part in the
local Life Chain held on Sunday,
Oct. 4 in Port Elgin. This Life
Chain was one of many which took
place in cities across Canada and
the U.S.
From 2-3 p.m. the main street of
Port Elgin was lined with
participants standing eight feet
apart, holding signs bearing anti
abortion and pro-adoption slogans.
Life Chains began in 1987 in
California. Local organizers hope
to rotate the location for this even
each year in this part of
southwestern Ontario.

Poppy Chairman Alan Caldwell and Campaign Assistant Fran Cook would like to

The Legion has a supply of hospital beds, canes, crutches,
wheelchairs, walkers, raised toilet seats for any person in our
district Who may require the use of them. A special thanks goes out
to all the Business Clubs and people who have supported The Blyth
Legion Branch 420 Poppy Campaign in the past. Also to the Legion
members who have assisted in making this one of the best poppy
