After boarding the Highland Tours bus in Stratford on Friday morning and crossing the bridge into Detroit, our overnight stay at the Ramada Inn in Louisville, Kentucky was appreciated. After an early wake up call at 6:00 a.m. on Saturday the tour proceeded on to Nashville where the main attraction was the Grand Ole Opry Show. The group spent some time at the shops on Music Row and a shopping mall, then settled into the Sheraton Inn. On Sunday morning there was a delicious buffet brunch on the General Jackson and a cruise down the Cumberland River. After spending time at Opryland Park and a visit to Opryland Hotel, they returned to Louisville for an overnight stay, then enjoyed a leisurely trip home, amidst pretty fall colours, arriving in Brussels at 10:30 p.m. Brussels arena manager Murray McArter noted there will be public skating on both Saturday after noons from 12:30 -2 p.m. and Sun days from 5:30-7 p.m. Price is $1. Mennonites hold communion Lucy Hesse led the congrega tional singing at Brussels Mennonite Fellowship on Sunday, Oct. 18. Nancy Elliot-Greenwood played the piano. Footwashing was held, followed by communion. Pastor Tom Warner preached from John 13: 1-17. In this passage, Jesus gives the key to happiness, something many in today's world are seeking. Know the word and practise it. The Bible tells us God died for us. If we believe that, we should live as if we do, and not be hung up in the past. Our sins are gone. Maybe the memory of sin is there but the penalty is gone, so we may live our lives in happiness. To know the Word of God but do nothing about it is sinful but if you do something about it is a blessing. Happiness is rooted in what you believe but is found in what you do. On Thursday evening, Del and Charlotte Glick and family, who have served as missionaries in China will share with the Venture Club (area children grade 3-6).
