Acclaimed actress Kate Reid will play the role of Blanche, the movie queen now restricted to a wheelchair as a result of a tragic car accident. Having most recently performed on Broadway this is Miss Reid's first Grand appearance. The title role of Jane, the jealous and vengeful younger sister, who must wait on Blanche hand and foot will be played by Janet Wright. She last appeared at the Grand as Maxine in the 1989/90 production of Bordertown Cafe. Sheila McCarthy plays the role of Edna, the maid, who is suspicious of Jane. Familiar to audiences for her appearances in such feature films as I've Heard the Mermaids Singing, Diehard II and Stepping Out, this is her first appearance at the Grand since 1984. Playing the role of Edwin the opportunistic piano accompanist hired to help Jane with her stage comeback is Bernard Hopkins, a former director of the Stratford Festival Young Company and for mer Artistic Director of The Grand Theatre. He has performed in major theatres across the country and was most recently at The Grand in the role of the Doctor in the 1990-91 production of Woman in Mind. Ea?MG,4AZ4 It’s Time To Dine Out!
