Brussels Livestock Report: Veal sell from $70 to high of $101 Sales at Brussels Livestock for the week ending OcL 9 were: fed cattle, 1147; cows, 187; veal calves, 115; sheep and goats, 115; stockers, 1400; and pigs, 150. The market at Brussels Livestock saw all classes of cattle selling on a good active strong trade. There were 774 steers on offer selling from $87 to $91 to the high of $100.25. Thirty-seven steers consigned by Gordon and Dale Pallister, Dundalk averaging 1279 lbs. sold for an average of $89.01 with sales to $100.25. One steer consigned by Scott Johnston, Bluevale weighing 1270 lbs. sold for $100. Forty-seven steers consigned by W. B. Pletch Co. Ltd., Rockwood averaging 1307 lbs. sold for an average of $91.53 with sales to $97.25. Forty steers consigned by Doug Gear, Orton, averaging 1385 lbs. sold for an average of $88.72 with sales to $94.75. Twenty-seven steers consigned by Murray Ohm, Monkton averaging 1338 lbs. sold for an average of $89.38 with sales to $94. Forty-one steers consigned by Gerald Geisel, Elmira averaging 1358 lbs. sold for an average of $90.69 with sales to $93.40. Here, Kevin Rintoul of Lucknow proudly displays his Grand Champion, which sold to Brussels Livestock. Reserve Champion was owned by Blair Bieman, Lucknow, and sold to Mayfair Restaurant.
