Upheaval in Auburn
The normally quiet streets of Auburn are looking a little different these days as huge
machines rip them up. The digging is being done to install a new drainage system through the
hamlet at the request of the residents who were living with a non-existent drainage system.
The Auburn Drainage Works 1992 project involves the three municipalities Auburn borders,
Hullett, East Wawanosh and West Wawanosh, which will fund the project estimated at
$380,000. Work on the project is being done by Omega Contractors of London and
engineered by Tom Pridham of R. J. Burnsides and Associates Ltd. in Orangeville. East
Wawanosh clerk-treasurer, Winona Thompson says work should be completed by mid
November.
