DOES WELL AT TOURNAMENT by Scott Clarkson and John Lowe The school has just started inter­ county sport teams. The first teams have already played soccer at Grey Central, establishing a winning record. Girls' team members are: Patti Harrison, Jennifer Coyne, Lesley Stretton, Lesley Elliott, Sonya Albert, Michelle Illman, Jenny Gowing, Susie Black, Heather Douma, Sherry Therrien, Tanya Mawhinney, Tyler Seeds, Kara Lee Pepper, Anita Little, Becky McLaughlin and Janice Jacklin. The boys' team consists of: Andrew Brussels People The regular meeting of Morning Star Rebekah Lodge, Brussels took place on Tuesday, Sept. 22 with Noble Grand Leola Hood presiding. There was a good attendance of members. The date for installation of officers for the coming year has been changed to Oct. 27. Monkton Rebekah Lodge will attend this meeting. The next regular meeting will be on Oct. 13. 200 students to attend fair Continued from page 1 Committee chairperson Donna White said that 200 students are expected during the morning. Brus­ sels Public School principal Dave Kemp has informed Mrs. White 150 will be present from Brussels Public School, while former Brus­ sels resident, now Stratford teacher Rose Marks is bringing 50 of her Grade 10 students. The committee is organizing a schedule for the stu­ dents which will include informa­ tive talks by the exhibitors. Regarding the novice venture, Mrs. White is quite pleased by the way things are shaping up. "It's been a Jot of work and a real learn­ ing experience. I can hardly wait for the day." Exel, Adam Carr, Josh Beuermann, Eric Horst, Steve Machan, Kent Brittain, Curtis Mutter, Dan Wolstenholme, Jonathan Patch, Jason Kellington, Jason Crawford, Michael McDonald, Alex Leger, Robbie Burkholder, and Cory Bragg. Mr. Prior has been their coach with much help from Mrs. Perrie. They have had a lot of hard practices. Everyone worked well together. Cross Country started two weeks ago and talk about participation! Everyone from grades two to eight has been out to take part. Mr. Prior takes them through warm-ups and keeps track of laps. Mr. Wanless and Mr. Teall are pylons on the street comers. There are new improvements at the school. The facility has been upgraded so handicapped people have access to the washrooms. There is a new front sidewalk, and a new paved road to the bike stands. A bulldozer was working this summer, making soccer fields and watch out for our new security system! Just a reminder to all groups that use the school to make sure you are familiar with the procedures related to the system. We interviewed some students to see how they like school so far. Brent Wheeler just loves the computer and he likes the sandbox. Jessica Spink from grade one said “I like recess because it is a break from work.” Jamie Ross also from grade one said “I'm a hard worker and I just love working.” Mennonite news Brussels Mennonite Fellowship Pastor Tom Warner preached from Matthew 2, on Sunday, Sept. 20. Being a Christian does not make your life perfect It means that God will walk through it with you. As a sermon title, Tom used “Jesus inspires terror and worship.” He inspires terror to those who disobey God and worship to those who trust and obey. The ladies will meet at the Church for their monthly fellowship meeting on Tuesday evening, Sept. 22, with Linda Garland and Marg Becker in charge of the meeting. The Junior Youth (grade 7-8) will meet at the Church on Saturday evening for a video and games. Venture Club will resume October 1. In the absence of the president Gerald Exel, the meeting was chaired by Sarah Stephenson. The Fall Rally for the Home and Country will be held at Grand Bend Legion Hall on Tuesday, Oct. 20 with registration from 11-12 p.m. Several members planned on THERE WILL BE A GARBAGE PICK-UP DAY FOR "LARGE ITEMS" held on Wednesday, October 7,1992. All items must be set out at the curb by 12 noon on this date.
