Passed away September 18/91. (Funeral date Friday, September 20, 1991.) On behalf of the twenty-one grandchildren and twenty-six great grandchildren, I would like to say a few words about Gramma McCutcheon and the great times we shared with her. She was a very special and unique person to us and many fond memories come to mind when I think of her. Gramma was an energetic, down- to-earth woman, always on the go up until she entered the nursing home in 1985. Gramma often rode to Listowel in the Dry Cleaning van to visit with Marg. She trav elled to Florida with Geo. and Barb, flew to Vancouver to visit Bob and Jeanette and often went to the stock car races with Jack. She kept busy in her garden, taking great pride in her prize-winning roses. She was active in the United Church, heading up a women's work group to serve at church sup pers and functions. If you called Gramma to take her on an outing, she'd be ready an hour early, waiting on the front porch. She loved to go places and would even have her purse ready at the kitchen table in case someone popped in to take her downtown to the restaurant or their home for din ner. She loved baking and we enjoyed her famous butter tarts, pies and peanut butter cookies. Each grand child received a quilt for their wed ding as long as Gramma was able to make them. Fondest memories of Gramma are from Christmas holidays. The LIVESTOCK WANTED - CRIPPLED, DISABLED or downer cows, must be alive and drug free. Winch equipped truck. Highest prices paid. There would be a huge pile of presents under the tree; one from Gramma to each of us, usually something she had made herself. She knitted socks, slippers, afghans, hats and mittens (some with two left thumbs) and made many night gowns for granddaughters which were modelled in her living room for the grownups. Gramma loved giving presents and being spoiled with the big pile of gifts that she'd receive, looking “tickled pink” when she opened each one. After presents, the grand children would run upstairs, hiding in her dark closets and jumping on beds until we caught the dickens. Gramma's dog was Brownie, her companion for many years. When Brownie heard Gramma yell, he knew enough to get back behind the old stove. Our dog, Chips, stayed with Gramma when we went west in ’68 for two weeks. When we came home he was so fat we didn’t recognize him. Gramma real ly took care of you well! I spent a lot of time hanging out at Gramma's, cutting her lawn, rak ing leaves, helping her clean up a bit or visiting. Gramma took me in when my parents went away or when I was in trouble and needed a place to hide. She taught me many things. Even though Gramma slowed down a lot the last years, I remem ber clearly the Gramma McCutcheon we all knew and loved. I'm sure that today, she knows how much we all love her and miss her. -Her granddaughter, Michelle (McCutcheon) Blake. ___________________ 37-lp r CUSTOM PLANTING OF WHEAT by no-till drill. There is nothing so treasured and nothing so rare as the love that a man and his family share. Through joy, through laughter, sorrow and tears, there develops a closeness that grows through the years. This love that we share doesn't need to be spoken, it's a wonderful bond that can never be broken. There will always be a heartache and many a silent tear, but always the precious memory of the days when you were here. No one feels the grief we bear,' when family and friends gather and you are not there. A wonderful husband and father laid to rest, for each of us you did your very best.
