Lawn bowling season ends On Thursday, Sept. 3 it rained as usual in the morning, but by noon the sun came out and it was a lovely afternoon for the last tournament of the Brussels Bowling Club 1992 season. Forty bowlers filled the 10 greens. Brussels Cam Ross ana Mark Gropp attended the annual Ontario Federa­ tion of Snowmobile Clubs conven­ tion in Kitchener this past weekend. One topic of interest was the news that the government had pro­ vided a grant of $14 million to the north part of the province for trail work, recognizing the sport as a boost to the Ontario tourism indus­ try. The Five R's Community Thrift Shop has over the past little while held some workshops for people in the community. Ann Marie Albers and Leanne Armstrong recently returned home after four weeks of travelling in Europe. Three weeks were spent on a tour with 51 other people from Australia, South Africa, Canada, New Zealand, Israel, England and Ireland. The tour visited France, Monaco, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Leichtenstein, Germany and Holland. All of the popular tourist attractions were seen, as well as spending time in the scenic rural areas of the various countries. The last week was spent visiting with relatives of Ann Marie's in Holland. The Youth Group gathered al the church on Saturday to redecorate the youth room. The decor has indeed changed. The ladies' fellowship group will resume its monthly meclings aflcr a break for the summer. The first meeting will be Tuesday, Sept. 22, with Linda Garland and Marg Becker in charge.
