During the course of the month, a canvasser will call on Brussels and area homes. Arthritis, Canada's most preva lent chronic disease, is an umbrella term for more than 100 different rheumatic conditions characterized by inflammatory symptoms. Left undiagnosed and untreated, the dis ease can often lead to permanent disability and intense recurring pain. As yet, there is no cure. The Arthritis Society is the only non-profit organization in Canada devoted solely to the funding and promoting of arthritis research, patient care, and public education. On-going research leads to new knowledge and understanding of this complex family of diseases related to arthritis, as well as tremendous achievement in diagno sis and treatment.
