School Fair
Tuesday
The seventy-second Belgrave,
Blyth, and Brussels annual school
fair takes place at the Belgrave
Community Centre on Tuesday,
Sept. 15.
Children from East Wawanosh
Public School, Blyth Public School
and Brussels Public School will be
competing against each other in
school work, crafts, gardening,
games and many other areas.
Long after all other schools in the
province have ceased to hold
school fairs, the Belgrave, Blyth
and Brussels school fair continues
to be a highlight in many school
children's lives. Now it is the only
remaining school fair in Ontario.
The fair kicks off with a parade
of the schools which starts at 1:00
p.m., east of the Women's Institute
Hall and it works its way to the fair
ground by the Community Centre.
Each school will have a banner to
identify itself.
The opening ceremonies include
speeches by local politicians and
leaders. Then the children are free
to look for their school work in the
arena or participate in the various
sporting events.
