A pavilion, booth, roofed picnic area and playground were built by the Kinsmen. Ball park lights were installed for $19,000. Through fundraising efforts the Kinsmen reimbursed the township for the land purchased for the ball park and the park lights. Both are officially owned by East Wawanosh township now. The official opening of the Kinsmen Ball Park was June 15, 1984. Kinsmen president Lloyd Michie acted as master of ceremonies. A ball game was followed by a dance in the arena. For the first 20 years of the existence of the arena, the Arena Board governed it, then in 1978, the East Wawanosh Recreation Committee took over. Since 1979, the arena has been governed by the Belgrave Community Board which is made up of two representatives from Morris Twp, two from East Wawanosh Twp, and one from each of the Belgrave’s Women's Institute, Belgrave Kinsmen, the Winter Sports Committee and the Summer Sports Committee.
