Brussels
Last Saturday Doreen Dale,
Helen Bray, Leola Hood and
Mildred Jacklin of Brussels, along
with Jean Noemer of Kitchener,
were picked up at the post office at
9:45 a.m. by Cherrey Bus Lines as
part of their second bus load of
passengers.
They proceeded on to a small
community named Rob Roy, a
short distance from Collingwood.
After arriving at a Century Farm
where an all-you-could-eal buffet
barbecue was served, they were
taken on hayrides around the hilly
farm, which proved to be. great fun
since the bales they were sitting on
were purposely placed so that they
slid forward going downhill and
backward going uphill which
turned out to be very entertaining.
Then they were entertained by
the Carlton Showband in a
monstrous screened-in tent, for two
- one-hour intervals with a half
hour break in between. Their
music, acoustics and singing were
superb as well as their crazy antics.
All in all, having been favoured
by a sunny afternoon, they had a
great day.

The Five R's Thrift Shop has
agreed to post a "car pool" bulletin
board donated by Town & Country
Homemakers Home Support
Services. Local citizens can use
this board to post "rides wanted"
and "rides to share". This is one
small way in which people can
work together for the betterment of
the community.
